Quiet location , nice views , hotel is a bit rundown however spent most of the time outdoors.About a $5AUD taxi ride to Ubud for shopping and dining.Food at hotel average.
Booked 3 nights on the recommendation of friends who live in Bali. The view as promised is
stunning, its basically family run and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The first room I had although OK and with a comfortable bed was quite basic and not that nice. I stayed on another
3 nights and they transferred me to a better room on a higher level with its own balcony at the same price and it was just so much nicer and really made a difference. The pool is small but very pretty and as I always had it to myself was fine and the garden with all its statues is also lovely.
The food is Ok and you could have it in the garden or they brought it to my balcony which being on my own was nice. The main problem is that it is quite a long way - 10/15 minute drive from
the centre of Ubud and its really not possible to walk there because of all the traffic on the roads and most of the time - no pavements so not easy to walk so you do have to always take a taxi
there and back which will cost 50,000 or 70,000 Indonesian rupees and if trying to return in the rain this went up to 100,000! But the centre of Ubud is full of traffic and so it depends on what
you are looking for. If you want the shops/ restaurants and are happy to put up with the traffic
this is not the hotel for you and you would be better to book something in the centre but if you want to relax in peaceful and quiet and beautiful surroundings then I would highly recommend this hotel.
Situated a short cab ride from busy central Ubud, Sayan Terrace is situated overlooking a lush, tropical hillside that drops down to the Ayung River below. We were made welcome and shown to a large room with an equally large covered balcony that overlooked a few restaurant tables scattered around a lawn at the edge of a terrace. Staff were happy to provide room service and we had most meals on our balcony. The menu was small but good as were the prices. The bed was comfortable, surrounded with netting and in an air conditioned bedroom. It was comfy and quiet. The bathroom was fine but the showerhead could be replaced. A few of the fixtures are due for replacement. The grounds are gorgeous and we enjoyed cooling off in the pool after a day in town.
Without a doubt the best small hotel we have ever stayed out. Beautiful room with private balcony overlooking the Ayung River Gorge. Very helpful and attentive service and care all round from this charming family-run establishment. The pool is a work of art and sits in lovely tropical gardens. We loved our stay at Sayan Terrace and will remember it fondly for a long time. Thank you very much!
Fantastic quite location 10 mins from busy Ubud. Great view over the Valley and a great breakfast & friendly helpful staff. Nice pool to cool off in after a day exploring the local area.
The breakfast service was fast and food was VERY good! Fresh squeezed orange juice not a mixed version of OJ you get usually. The scenery from our bed looking out into the jungle was AMAZING. The sounds of nature and the running river was so soothing. It does not have a private bathroom but it suits the lifestyle. I would go back to the Sayan Terrace again and again. Away from the tourist for sure....

Fantastic views
We will never forget the views from Sayan Terrace. They are incredible. The hotel rooms are beautifully furnished. Be prepared for a 15 minute trip into Ubud. Also, I can't recommend the hotel restaurant, but there are lots of options in Ubud. Lastly, don't spring for the room with the "private plunge pool" as the hotel has recently destroyed the view from this particular room with new construction.

Quiet and Peaceful Hotel with Wonderful View
I stayed here with my 8 year old son. We loved it. The view is spectacular and it was such a peaceful location, but still relatively close to Ubud. We went for a walk down to the river and through the paddy fields which was great. Food was good. The rooms are aging a little but great value given the location.
The view from the terrace was amazing, and it was very peaceful. Breakfast in the room was a treat and the staff were very nice and helpful. I took a hike through the rice fields below and had a great time and great guide. It is a bit outside of Ubud so had to hire a car to drive me there, but worth it to be away from the crowd in such a lovely location.

Room with a view
Views of the river valley & mountains, were just like the publicity shots promised. It was a wonderful Balinese style resort with the furniture being all local -except the mattress on the very comfortable oversized king bed, the efficient airconditioning & cable TV. We generally had breakfast & dinner on the balcony except for romantic dinner for 2 on the restaurant terrace - beautifully organised by the staff. This resort is a great place if you want a place that is Balinese - not recommended for those who require European style 4 star luxury. There are lots of steps & stairs. Food except for breakfast definitely fusion - balinese/western. Travelling to Ubud does require a taxi - no footpaths along the narrow roads. If you want a quiet relaxing break this place is great, staff are very friendly & everything you want was just a phone call away - with very reasonable pricing. We had 3 great days.
Facilities: Home away from home; Value: Fantastic; Service: Outstanding; Cleanliness: Spotless;
We loved it and will be back there next year definitely
Great views, however in this pricerange one expects well maintained rooms... There not.
Cheap matrass, broken fixtures, inside it doesn't look the part. Great views from the veranda though.
Also, the food is fine, and reasonably priced. Bit out of ubud, but that's a plus I think.
