"The hotel is clean and very well located and the front desk staff was very nice and the room was ready much earlier than official check-in time. However, the room isn’t well isolated so I was woken up by the noise of motorcycles in the street and dogs barking. "

"The hotel has beautiful views of the lake and is very well located as a base to explore the towns around the lake. Very clean and modern rooms. My only complaint was that they are inflexible on check-in time (they allow early check-in and late check-out only if we pay a fee and don’t provide room upgrades even though both are supposed to be advantages of platinum status on the booking platform). Also there is no laundry service contrary to the description, which was a let down for a hotel of that caliber. Overall, I would stay here again though."

"This was quite possibly the best hotel we've ever stayed at. The views of the lake from every vantage point on the property are beyond stunning. The food at the hotel was by far the best we had anywhere in Guatemala. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. The room was stunning. And we absolutely loved San Marcos - everything you need is at most a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Truly can't recommend Kula Maya enough. "

"My husband and I loved our stay at Jenna's River B&B! The property and the views were so beautiful, I could not stop taking pictures. We loved relaxing on our private patio as well as in the open air bar and open air restaurant. Service was friendly and accommodating. Others have made comments about the stairs. Yes, there are a lot of stairs because the entire property is on a steep hill. I was also concerned about the comfort of the bed and bugs in the room, as that had also been mentioned in a review. My husband and I slept comfortably and housekeeping cleaned the room and changed the bedding every day. We saw one or two small bugs in the bathroom, but I see bugs like that in my own home from time to time, so I didn't see that as a big deal at all. This hotel also provided us with a pitcher of filtered water in our room every day. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Guatemala!"

"Loud barking dogs all night right next to room number 1, which is also right by the front desk which isn’t great if loud people are checking out early. The hotel graciously moved me to a quieter room for my second night. Much better when not in room #1. "

"We truly enjoyed our stay at Aviva. Rooms were really great with unique touches. The bed was probably the best I ever had. Great coffee service and lots of little lovely details. We were always addressed by our name and Adam went above and beyond offering advice. Best breakfast by far in the area. Still a little of the beaten path. "
