get stunned by the starkness of the landscape every time you step out of the Cabin. the changing colors of the rock faces, the picturesque blue sky and the nights bringing in the endless depth of the galaxy above with an intoxicating show of stars. never gets old and leaves a lasting impression on our psyche.

Amazing rest at awesome spot
Stopped by on a cross country move between 20 hour drives. Host was incredibly kind and responsive, and the property was perfect for our dogs to run around and for us to take a nap.

Vik was a super responsive host and very helpful. They gave recommendations before the stay and when the power went out during the stay they were very quick to respond and contacted the electrical company to find more details out for us!

A disgusting property which should be condemned, my first night in the wolf lodge a waterfall of water plunged thru the bedroom ceiling, leaking multiple buckets of water into the property, and creating a moldy disgusting mildewy smell. God only knows what type of bacteria I was exposed to considering the ceiling was caving in and clearly not it's first water leaf. Reported to host and no refund given. What a joke.

Quaint Cabin
This was a quaint little house perfect for our needs. Vik was on top of everything and gave us great, precise instructions for the house. The heaters were very much appreciated. Easy and convenient to get to Joshua Tree NP and to town (restaurants, shops, gas station, etc.). We would stay here again if ever in the area.

Great value for the price
The Host Vik was incredibly courteous and quick to reply both before and during our stay. He gave us some great recommendations for activities in the area beyond just the National Park. We were clearly informed about available amenities and we packed accordingly. We were able to cook every meal during our 2 day 2 night stay right in the Wolf House Kitchen. Vik warned us that the house might be hot when we get there but there was ample cooling. A built in AC unit in the dining room, a high powered portable cooler in the sleeping space, another built in AC unit in the front room and two fans in the front room. The place was perfectly chilly in just about half an hour. Unfortunately, the Watch Tower seen in the listing pictures that we were looking forward to was missing, i.e. fully dismantled. I almost didn’t recognize the house driving up to it. It doesn’t take much away from the experience since you can still see a large swathe of sky from the backyard. The night sky was absolutely incredible, we were so far away from any houses or lit up buildings. However, the surrounding area had several stray dogs that kept circling the property while we were sitting around the fire pit. I had to bring my dog inside since a couple of the dogs looked quite aggressive. We were safe behind the fence but it’s definitely something to be cautious about if your dog doesn’t do well with other dogs and/ or strays. We also always kept the gate locked as recommended. I would also not recommend burning the provided lumber next the the fire pit. It gave off a terrible smell and made our eyes burn. The wood also had nails and such left in it. Luckily, Vik had suggested bringing our own firewood as well so we ended up just using that. The yard also had a fair amount of pet waste left behind by previous guests who didn’t clean up after their pets. There was dry dog poop in places and even cat litter dumped right in the yard. This was unfortunate as this was clearly an issue caused by previous guests and Vik couldn’t have done much about it. All in all, the Wolf House is great value for the price and it pays to inform yourself about what to expect. We had a great time in Joshua Tree and this was a perfectly suitable place to stay. We are definitely considering booking this property again for another trip to this area.

The home was clean, but the a/c wasn't able to make much of a dent in the heat. There were no hand towels or wash cloths in the bathroom. Minor inconveniences, but I also felt a bit nervous staying here.. There was a locked fence as well as locks on the doors that made me feel less secure.

Bad choice
We stayed one night here. The listing is not as depicted or described. When we first arrived we were welcomed by an animal that was decaying in a rat trap next to the back patio that my son pointed out. There is no watch tower. The inside is okay, floors looked mopped with a dirty mop, linen look really old and not washed including bedding, kitchen was not that stocked and dishes looked dirty. No wifi or remote to watch tv, when looking for the remote we found a phone in the couch and trash under the bed, was told we had to use our own hotspot on our phone but we do not have a plan that does hotspot so that sucked, so our two kids had no tv to watch. When we went out to star gaze the dang motion lights kept coming on so we did not get to see anything. The only patio furniture we seen was folding chairs. This was the worst place we have stayed at for paying the amount we paid, and we stay in a lot of place cheaper than this one. Host said nothing about all my complaints or even refund some money for not having the listing as described or depicted. Given the only reason we rented this place was to star gaze and we couldn’t even do that.

Quaint, clean, comfortable.
The cabin is nice on the inside, looks a bit rough on the outside. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen wasn't stocked as much as I'd like it to be, but is sufficient. Nice and bright in the inside, and cool wolf pictures on the walls.

Perfect Getaway
Although it turned out to be the hottest weekend ever (lol) we had the most amazing short trip out to Joshua Tree. The Wolf House Cabin was perfect for our family to use as a "base" when exploring the national park and local area. The observation tower was the icing on the cake - the whole family saw two shooting stars! Huge highlight for everyone. Thank you!

Nice little getaway
The Wolf House is a nice little place away from the city for stars viewing. The place itself is clean. Please beware of the ants outside however. The watch tower was a very pleasant treat. We stars gazed for most of the night. Beautiful sky upon the watch tower. I think this tower should be more secure so that it doesn't shake so much when multiple people are on. It was the highlight of my trip, to see the stars and watch the quietness of the morning. The owner was quick with the responses. I enjoyed my stay there!

Sunset smiles
The Wolf House is just a bit outside of town which makes it perfect for unobstructed views of sunset and stars. The interior is oriented in a way to offer privacy and communal space. The bed in the main space was very comfy! The fenced yard was perfect for our pup to explore safely. I’d stay here again.
