"Took up to an hour for the owner to arrive to give us the key into the home. I called the provided number twice to be hung up on (as I only speak English). The owner was able to bring a younger adult to translate. The home is mostly advertised for its hot tub and sauna. My grandmother had planned to use the king-sized bed downstairs; however, I realized she would hurt herself if she need to use the bathroom at night. The drop-down stairs to the second floor bedroom were in the way of her door. If you were to stay upstairs (only twin beds available), you would have to leave the stairs lowered as there was no way to reel the stairs back up once up there to sleep. There were little to no blankets. Available duvets and pillow cases smelt of body odor, and were extremely outdated. We traveled far and couldn’t bring our own blankets, unfortunately. If we had stayed, my 81 year old grandmother would have froze at night."

"We were welcomed by friendly staff in a beautiful medieval house. The restaurant and breakfast room are located in this ‘castle.’ The rooms are located across the street in a new-fangled room complex. The rooms are modern and functionally furnished. Unfortunately, there was a lack of maintenance of the rooms; the shower floor and chairs are damaged. All this should not spoil the fun, but that is not what you expect from a (Fletcher) hotel. Above all, the rooms are very warm, so the air conditioning is sorely missed. I recommend that Fletcher addresses both ‘shortcomings.’"

"Lovely hotel, friendly staff and restaurant next door. Close to two bus stops and only approximately 10 minute walk from Assen station. Markets outside on Wednesday and Sunday. Rooms are decently sized with A/C, wet room and in room safe"

"This is not a 4 star hotel. It is a three star at best. The rooms are basic and dated. Some rooms don't have a fridge, the TVs are tiny. The layout of the hotel makes getting to the far rooms like the scene from the movie "The Shining." Redrum. I stayed there for the MotoGP race weekend, and they basically tripled their rate and then cut the "all-inclusive" that is advertised all over the hotel down to a bed and breakfast service. I checked into my room and then went to the restaurant to eat. When I returned to my room, my key didn't work. I went back to the front desk and they told me that they had given me the wrong room, so they had removed my belongings from the original room and put them at the front desk. There was no luggage cart or bell-hop available, so I got to lug my belongings to the new room, which was on the farthest side of hotel, rather than them transferring things themselves after realizing their own error. The location is convenient to the track, but I don't think I'd recommend this place otherwise."

"Fantastic hotel and staff. Could not fault anything at all. Excellent position for the Assen MotoGp and only 2 hours from Schiphol airport. Parking on site."
