Let's start with the good. We came to Tulameen for my brother's wedding, and to spend time with my dad and my sister, who I haven't seen since the start of the pandemic. It was precious time, and precious vacation time. The place was close to my brother's and my sister-in-law's, the porch was a good entertaining space, the kitchen was well-equipped, and there was enough space for all four of us. I also appreciated the owner allowing us to come a day earlier and leave a day earlier. That being said, there were more than few disappointments. 1. Given the cost of this place (we spent less in Victoria), don't charge people to do laundry. Yes, this was advertised as such, but it's so tacky and such nickle and diming. Just build the cost into the rental and be done with it. In protest, I did no laundry. 2. We have just returned to our home in London, and pretty much all of my clothes smell like cigarette smoke from being in the master bedroom. You might have banned smoking in the house now, but the carpets and overall smell doesn't lie. For non-smokers (and for adults who grew up in the '70s with parents who smoked, we know these things). 3. Just say that the third "bedroom" is a garage conversion with four bunk beds and a gaming station. I would not constitute this as a third bedroom for an adult. 4. Air conditioning. When you rent your pad out in July/August, and if you say there is air conditioning, say that the only air conditioning unit is in the GARAGE! No idea why you would choose to put this in there, but ok, at the very least make sure that the house has fans. We had to scramble to get fans elsewhere in order to sleep. 5. I asked if there was a BBQ. It would have been helpful to know that the propane was empty. Again, I was cooking for family, and we had to scramble to get propane. No one likes surprises. I'm sure if you take this to heart, you'll make it work, but it doesn't right now. Thanks.
