La Puerta Azul - Stunning Desert Retreat Pool / Spa

La Puerta Azul is a true Sonoran desert gem, minutes from nearby amenities yet set back into the western hills of Tucson. Our ultra cozy straw-bale home is sprawling with 4 gorgeous bedrooms, 3 baths & a south facing backyard equipped with a pool, hot tub, outdoor shower & fire pit. The fully stocked kitchen has ample storage, a gas range, and all the things you need to chase your culinary desires. Come get lost and find yourself immersed in the essence of a desert getaway.

Whether it be a romantic getaway or a special occasion to gather, every aspect of this home has been curated to comfort your soul and rejuvenate your spirit as you celebrate life. Each room is fitted out with premium mattresses and linens, extra blankets, and soft evening lighting. Our patios and backyards are filled with everything you could need. The bathrooms come fully stocked, so you never have to worry if you left something at home.

We know its not all play all the time, that's why we have provided you with well lit, ample workspaces to be as productive as your little hearts desires, equipped with a solid printer, 2 separate desk spaces, basic stationary, and internet.

This kitchen is ready to go. From oils, spices, herbs, and seasonings to fully equipped appliances and gadgets, this kitchen begs for you to come whip up some grub. If cooking outside is your thing, you have to go check out the grill. It's calling your name.

Traveling with kids? Perfect. Our bunk room is not just for adults, but for the little ones to come set up a bed sheet fort. Stocked with fun games, kids' books, and indoor snowballs to get down on some good ole' snowball fighting. We've got it covered.

Movie night? Yup. Check the cabinets for some popcorn and hot chocolate. Grab a blanket from the living room basket, dim the lights, and snuggle up on the couch. Each room, but the bunk room, has a TV in case you like movies in bed.

Wanting complete serenity? This is the place. The backyard is set up perfectly to face a direction of your choice and dig deep into yourself to find the calm place away from the busy world out there. With all the sounds of the desert nature, from birds at day to coyotes at night, you are sure to get lost in the magic.

As a guest you have the entire property at your disposal (except for a locked storage area full of useless things). Explore the desert, jump in the pool, recharge in the hot tub, shower outdoors, then come on in. We want you to fully embrace this experience, so unpack, hang up your clothes, fill the drawers, cook some food, and feel at complete ease with it all. You deserve it.

There is ample parking, but please be aware that it is all dirt and gravel, which means that its not the best for peeling out. Take your time.

Feel free to explore the pool bins to find all the coolest pool toys, totally rad floats, and more. Everything you need to splash how you like.

I live just 10 minutes away. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out, even if its just for a recommendation to a restaurant or trial head.

The property is located on the west side of Tucson, near the Saguaro National Park. The neighborhood is a dirt road community where most homes have modest acreage and neighbors are several acres away. The neighborhood is very quiet and neighbors are nice. The property is very peaceful yet only 8 minutes from most major stores. The property has two trails directly connected, one on the east side through a wash and one on the west side through some open desert.

The property is set at the end of a dirt road. 4x4 is not necessary, but works a little better. Besides the 2 trails on the property, walking the road is a great way to explore.

It's a desert. While the backyard is fully walled-in, the rest of the property is the Sonoran desert. This means its blanketed in unforgiving cactus that prefers not to be touched. It's a great time out there, just be mindful.
The rules are easy. Please respect the property, the road its on, and the home you're staying in.

NOISE
Outdoor quiet time is 9 pm. Feel free to keep the conversations going, especially around the fire, but please move the loud sounds inside. If you're feeling wound up, take a soak in the hot tub (but please rinse off first). Please have the exterior speakers completely turned off by 9 pm. This is a quiet place in the evenings. If you want to host a later gathering, it must be communicated with the host. Please communicate your needs, we will talk with the neighbors, and let you know what options there are. We all like to have a good time.

SPEED LIMIT
Please drive very slow on the dirt road. Do not speed over 10MPH. The neighbors regularly walk the road and there are many blind spots and children present. Please respect the slow speeds or your reservation will be terminated.

EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT

Up to 1 hour early (2PM): Complimentary if available
Up to 6 hours early (9AM): $75

CHECK-OUT
Up to 5 hours late (4PM): $75

CHECK-OUT TIME
Check-out time is prompt at 10 AM. We would love to let you stay forever, but we may have another guest checking in after you. If you have not been approved for a late check-out, you will be subject to a $50 fine for each 15 minute interval that you delay the cleaning team. We value the time of our staff and hope you do as well. A delayed checkout only causes stress and extra work for them. We hope you understand, so please make sure to check out on time in order to avoid any fine. If a late checkout time is mandatory, please be sure to make arrangements upon booking. We will do our best to accommodate your request pending availability. Lastly, please remember that Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings so please make sure to check local time.

PHOTOSHOOTS/FILMS
If you are booking for a Photoshoot or Production, we have special rates for you and all shoots must be approved prior to booking.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS
Our base occupancy limit is 9 guests. Additional fees apply for any guests over the maximum allowed number of guests on the listing. The additional fee will be $25 per person per night.

NO SMOKING PLEASE
No indoor or patio smoking. Smoking only at designated covered area just outside of carport. There is an ashtray pedestal, please use it and help prevent fires.

PARTY GLITTER & CONFETTI FEE
We politely warn that there will be an additional fee of $50 for sprinkling glitter or confetti per room.

PETS
Dogs welcomed. If you are staying longer than 3 weeks, then we may require an additional fee to accommodate the deep cleaning. Cats are not allowed due to housekeeper allergies. Dogs are not allowed in beds or on furniture. $1000 per bed and $1500 per couch if this rule is not respected.

CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS / CLEANUP
Please clean up and discard all your trash prior to your departure. Please also shut and lock all doors and windows. Do not strip the beds, as we need to assess and treat stains prior to washing. If your garbage is more than what fits in the 2 provided dumpsters with the lids closed, you will receive a $100 fee to cover a 3rd party removal and dump fees.

HOT TUB AND POOL
Please wash off any oils, skin products, and fragrances before entering the hot tub. No food or drinks in either the pool or hot tub. We take great pride in keeping the hot tub clean and fresh for each use and test phosphates for major changes in water condition. If phosphates are above 300ppb, an extra cleaning fees will be forwarded to the guest to be paid should services be required. If a full change of water should need to be required, a $400 fee for the hot tub and $1000 fee for the pool will be charged to the guest. These levels will never be a problem if you simply shower before using either - thank you!

PARTIES & EVENTS
Currently, Airbnb has put a temporary ban on all events. They have not defined what determines an event. In the past some guests have had friends gather for a BBQ or a baby shower. To avoid any possible issues, please reach out to us on social media to discuss details.

Based on the type of event and if Airbnb allows it, additional refundable security deposit will be taken for parties and events.

Events held without approval will result in either immediate cancelation of reservation with no refund or $1000 fee.

MISCELANEOUS
Please don't water the plants. Desert plants have very particular cycles and we have pro's who take care of their needs. Any damages to plants or dumping of anything but water on to them, will result in a fee based on the landscapers discretion to fix; invoice provided.

If you break anything, please let us know so we can replace items before the next guest. If it's glass, we really need to know so that we can best protect others.

Please pick up any animal droppings your dogs leave behind. There are bags in the drawer next to the sink, as well as a trashcan under the car port.

No fires outside of designated fire pit.

Lost remotes will be a $50 charge per remote.

Missing or stained linens will result in $25/towel, cloth, or standard pillowcase, $50/sheet, quilted/duvet pillow case, or throw blanket, $200 quilt, $100 duvet, $35/pillow.
