Super close to the airport and a large house that can sleep many.
The home was very basic. Make sure to bring your own towels and linens. The cooking ware is very old and not enough for a large party. The house definitely needs deep cleaning. AC was great. No issues checking in. Neighborhood quiet.
I usually pay for higher end homes so my expectations may have been a bit high for the price i paid. However, no matter what is paid for the home, one would expect it to be clean. This home misses the mark by a mile.
I will start off with the pros.
1-neighborhood is nice, quiet, and established.
2- all of the appliances seem to be newer or well taken care of
3- check in and out instructions were clear
Cons
1- dirty
a. Ceiling fans and top of door jambs have a pile of dust… more than a year worth
b. All of the linens smell clean and im sure they were washed but my daughter found hair on her sheet and on the hand towel in the restroom (not hers)Even though these were probably washed, this was a major oversight by the housekeeper.
c. There is a smashed spider on the door jamb of one of the guest rooms… this is so obvious and should have been cleaned up.
The Backyard looks lovely in the ad however, the backyard was dirty and overgrown with weeds and spider webs… un-usable.
Other than the master, Furniture is all very low to the ground. Living room couch is sitting very close to the ground as are the bed's in the guest rooms.
The house looks thrown together over a weekend and is probably fine for a bunch of college kids on a budget.
I seriously hate leaving a bad review and hope the owner takes to heart that a little attention to detail will yield more stars which will equal more $$.
I have to wonder if the owner has ever seen this property. In my opinion, this house is not ready for vrbo.
.
Pre-communications with owner assured us our larger group of 16 would be just fine in the space (kept screenshots of this convo). Upon arrival, the house was not clean/ready by 4. When we did come back, the house was utterly lacking appropriate supplies for a group even as large as 10 (which listing said). There were exactly 4 forks and 4 butter knives in the drawers. 3 coffee mugs. 6 water glasses. There were SEVEN total towels in the entire house, and not a single dish towel. We had 9 plates. The pots and pans were dismal. There were 8 dining chairs, and 8 total bed pillows. Each bed had just a single sheet and one overlay "quilt" that the cleaning person did not clean when turning over the property. A thick layer of dust on every fan, shade and light-fixture. The heat wasn't working and temps were in the 20s overnight.
We reached out that night to the owner expressing our concern over lack of supplies on the first night. He first asked us to go to the store to get our own supplies and he would reimburse us. Given the misleading post about the state of the house, we did not trust that to happen, so he arranged to have his cleaning person pick up towels, blankets, dishes, and silverware. He was frustrated with our asks on the phone and we had many conversations where he was mad that we were asking to have enough supplies for our guests (given he'd assured me multiple times in advance that the house could easily accommodate our group)
After many convos. the cleaning person was able to buy and deliver the items by the evening of our second day. I then received a text from the owner asking us to take out the trash for trash day the following day and "Also, please help us to keep all the items in good condition. It cost $40 uber for the cleaning lady communication. All the items cost are more than $700. We could not afford them an have to return them if possible when you check out..."
I was floored by his desire to return used household goods, and said as much. Even if the house hosted 10 people, it absolutely would not have accommodated them.
The dishwasher was broken & after telling us they sent someone to fix it, it never worked throughout the week.
After returning home and a difficult stay, we received a notice of an insurance claim of THEFT of the items they'd purchased while we were there. This was beyond offensive. Ultimately, it seems Owen (owner) has never been to this property in person and has no clue what he's doing.
This property has plenty of room to accommodate a large group. It has the bare basics and sparsely furnished, so plan to bring what you will need including extra linens.
Overall, the property was clean expect the odor from the very full trash can in the garage.
When I initially booked this property it stated access to a pool which I realized the same day. I made an attempt to cancel and book another property, but the host that answers the phone just kept saying check poly he spoke very little English. Since I couldn't reach anyone else and was unwilling to to lose half the amount by clicking cancel I decided to keep it. The location was okay, but upon arrival the street was lined with trash n no exaggeration mattresses, chairs and carpet were everywhere. The house its self was mostly clean, there were hairs in the tub and the garage reeked of trash because the cans in there were full. The faulty a/c was super cold and kept dipping into the 50's instead of the 70's that we set it for. The front screen door has a loose bottom door frame
which my husband tripped over and fell breaking a case of beer. Luckly he only had some scratches. We made the best of it ,but I definitely feel cheated it was 720 for 2 nights for that price it should be better. This was my first vrbo rental. Not sure I will use them in the future. exaggerating
