"It was such a lovely little place to find in Truro and was greeted by a very kind lady who walked me to my room, asked me how my journey was and explained everything I needed. It was as simple as needing to remember to take a set of keys with me when I left. The bedroom was immaculate with fresh linen, two bedside tables with lamps, chairs with a little table and a decent tv! The bed was so comfortable to sleep on and I slept better than I thought! There was little chocolates and fresh towels whenever I came back after a long day. The only few downsides were that the shower spray strength was a bit weak and the hotel is at the top of the hill but for my first time in Cornwall, it was absolutely brilliant to see the town (including the amazing cathedral) from my bedroom window! "

"Beautiful location. Lovely staff, delicious breakfast. Clean comfy rooms. Something to note is Uber or similar services are not permitted in the area. We needed a taxi to Truro and all local firms were booked so had to drive. We’d already had a drink in the bar before we realised this, thankfully not enough to be unable to drive but if we had that would have ruined our plans. Also worth mentioning is that a 25 min taxi ride when we got one the following day was £50. We will return to The Lugger but just to enjoy the hotel and immediate location, not when needing to venture away. "

"We had an absolutely lovely stay at the Alverton. Everything about the stay was perfect. Staff were helpful and friendly. Premises were stunning. Food was excellent. In particular the hotel went 'above and beyond' when we initially had to change our plans. We will definitely stay again when we return to Truro."
