"Staff on reception really nice and helpful. A lovely room. Bed very comfortable, had a good nights sleep. Loved that we had a range of hot drinks with options that included oats milk for lactose intolerant and bottled water. There was a lovely hot shower. The only downside was the noisy toilet in the bathroom but apart from that, we had a nice stay. Would stay again."

"Room was nice but small . Breakfast staff friendly. Considering it was double would.not expect bathroom to.have a small.cloakroom size sink with no where to put anything and shower cubicle not spacious . Bed comfy. Felt we got short straw on room . Bar feels odd having to register for a table to sit inside and felt conducive to a warm welcome. Chose not to eat in pub "

"Great location in centre of kendal whilst we attended brewery Arts barely a minute walk away. Room was clean and the breakfast was included in the price and was tasty. Though the gap to get past the end of the bed was small, the bed was super king size and comfortable. Despite being in centre of town we were tucked away from any noise from the street. Shower tray filled quickly during our showers so perhaps drain blockage and the tray felt very springy underfoot, perhaps time to replace....

"Troutbeck Inn is a gem of a place. The owners are lovely and we had a good laugh with them. The food is second to none and is locally sourced and cooked fresh. We stayed for 2 nights in September whilst walking around the Ullswater area and the location is superb. Right by a main road for good access but without an intrusive noise from the road. I'm sure we will be staying here again if we plan more walks in future."

"Had such a lovely stay in The Horse & Farrier Inn. Rooms were small but clean and had all the facilites needed. Food at both dinner and breakfast was delicious. Location is great, only a short drive into Keswick, with beautiful views of the mountains. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely return. "

"The queens is a great place for a couple of nights. Lovely staff , very attentive staff great food and drinks. Our Dog was very welcome and the outside facilities and car park were great. We were in an electric car so disappointed that there was no EV charging point. There are fast chargers in Penrith."

"Excellent service and good food (we only had breakfast), and quite nice, modern style accommodation in their independent "pods". About 10 minutes drive from Bowness Pier, which is easy if you have a car. If not, you have to call a taxi; there is no bus stop or train station in a walkable distance. This can be a challenge during peak hours, with long waits so you have to plan your day well and call in advance."
