"Andy, the night shift concierge did his best to accomodate all our requests, he's been super kind and professional! We expected a bit more from the staff at the breakfast area, the vegan/vegetarian options were there but the signs were difficult to understand. Plenty of non-dairy options but no chance to prepare a cappuccino (or just hot milk) with soya/oat. Amazing peanut butter, though! Very elegant and comfortable rooms with a very nice view"

"It’s a very fun concept, but if you are not from one of the cruises you are almost forgotten about. They have such a crazy influx of people from the cruise that they get overwhelmed and can’t handle everyone. The activities are too expensive for somebody already paying so much to stay at the hotel. It is such a cool place it just does not seem organized and well ran."

"We had a great harbor, sea & mountain view from our balconied room. The room, although somewhat small, was very comfortable with very nice decor & comfortable beds. Complimentary coffee/tea & espresso in the lobby was quite a nice feature and the breakfast was over the top excellent! The hotel restaurant was surprisingly quite good as well! "From the first minutes you enter the hotel, you are surrounded by an atmosphere of attentiveness and responsiveness. "I loved the hotel overall and its location in Tromso. Unfortunately, there was no electrical outlet near the bed for my Cpap machine and I had to run a cord all across the room to use it. A trip hazard and not comfortable. "

"The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They didn't have breakfast but did have a late afternoon tea and cake time. Dinner had a choice of salads and a couple different things like soup, meats, and cheeses. It was located near lots of shops and places to eat. It was also walking distance to all the excursion meeting spots. However, they did not have housekeeping services. You could change out for clean towels, but the rooms were not cleaned, or the bedding changed during your stay. They did...

"We had a great stay overall. The check-in was the easiest and quickest we have experienced in quite some time. There was free coffee / tea available by the reception all day, a very nice touch in the cold. The sauna in the central building is spacious and convenient. We also had a private sauna in the beach house we stayed in - this was an amazing surprise (should be called out in the room's details!). In terms of location, both Sommaroy island and the hotel are great - to enjoy the scenery and to hunt for the northern lights. The only suggestion we would have is to maybe install dimmer street / outside building lights if possible - I imagine a lot of people visit for the northern lights, which are more difficult to see due to light pollution (especially when external building lights are accidentally left turned on)."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Moxy. The hotel is very clean and the staff super friendly and helpful. We were a little disappointed it was so far from the City center, but once we figured out the transportation system, it was quite easy to get around. It is probably walkable to the center in the warmer months."

"We have had a fabulous stay at this modern and clean property which is centrally located so only a short walk away from everything and with a stunning view of the city. Excellent communication with the owner regarding accessing the building and the property. Luggage store in the building was incredibly useful. "

Good hotel but budget sized rooms.

"This was a one night stay until our other hotel, on the docks, was available the next day. It's a great little hotel for all the basics - the beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, water was hot and everything was clean. The location is really good and just a few minutes walk to the docks (but not the water and mountain view I was looking for). The room is small and for a couple you wouldn't really spend time in it rather than sleeping, because of its size, but there is a communal room downstairs with large TV and tea/coffee is always available there as well."

"The room was terrific. The overbooked our level of room so we were upgraded for the first night. Only a slight hassle to move the next day but both rooms were large, comfortable and well maintained. Perhaps the best part about the stay was the breakfast buffet. It is included in the room and I have never seen so many food options at any buffet. It was all delicious. The location on the water was a big plus and we never had to venture far to get to the meeting point for our tours."
