Disappointed
My husband and I were looking for a peaceful, quiet and stress-free holiday when we chose to stay at the Nest. Sadly, the Nest did not live up to its description and the owner was less than hospitable. There was no satellite TV. She told us it had broken that week. Other reviews (seen too late) on other sites showed me that it had been broken for at least a year. The wifi worked only outside, at the back door or in a corner of the attic. There were no sunloungers. On our third day, a parasol fell over in the wind and snapped. It was completely rusted through as it had been outside all summer, on the coast. Suddenly that was our problem and every conversation with the owner became about the parasol. Including her intention to find the lowest cost solution for us to replace it. She insisted we pay the holiday rental by cash which left me feeling very uncomfortable. She also decided to charge us tourist tax just before we left, having never mentioned it before. In addition, she made up an amount of money to pay for the electricity we used. By the last 24 hours, all I could do was count the hours until it was time for us to leave.
