Have you ever wished you could recreate your childhood memories of an up north family vacation in a charming cottage on a quiet lake?

Well now you can!

Chandler lake cottage is a charming vintage lake front cottage that beckons back to simpler times. It has been updated but keeps its original integrity.

It is bright and airy with magnificent views of Chandler Lake, a spring fed, crystal clear lake with excellent fishing! It has a hard, sandy bottom with gradual slope for swimming.

There are many coves to explore on our kayaks, canoe or row boat. Most of the boat traffic on the lake is from pontoon boats. It's a peaceful oasis for relaxing!

The view of the lake out the huge living room window can be seen from the kitchen and dining room as well. Even the master bedroom has lake views!

We provide - at no charge - 2 kayaks (one is an 11ft Old Town Vapor with fishing pole inset!), a canoe, and even a row boat for you to enjoy!

We offer several levels of seating for your relaxation and enjoyment. We have a picnic table on the newly constructed lower patio - along with 4 adirondack chairs. There is a patio table on the upper patio, along with 2 rocking chairs and another bench for seating. Enjoy the meals you cook on the Weber grill with thermostat. There are even 4 rocking chairs on the downstairs covered porch outside of the family room in the lower level. There is also a deck at the dock level with 2 chairs - right on the lake and a great spot to see the loons, ducks, and sometimes a pair of swans!One last spot is a wooden swing overlooking the lake.

The property is wooded and wonderful for bird watchers.
An occasional eagle will fly by as they nest close to the cottage.

For an additional fee, we have a pontoon boat available for rent during your stay. Pleases ask the property manager for additional details.

Amazing vacation
We cannot thank Sally enough for her hospitality. The house was beautiful, the lake was calm and clean, and the location was perfect. We had an amazing time, it was the perfect ending for our summer 2024.

Nice home, great view
We enjoyed our stay on Chandler Lake and the Traverse City area. There was a lot to do in the area to keep us busy. Sally the property manager was attentive to any needs we had. The fireworks we were treated to the last day we were there were fantastic!

Great place on the lake!
Great stay. Beautiful place on the lake. It’s even prettier than the pictures show. Lots of bedrooms for bigger families. Well appointed kitchen for making family meals. We spent alot of time kayaking on the lake. There are two nice kayaks, a canoe, a johnboy boat, and the option to rent a pontoon boat if needed. ZVery quiet and peaceful. Best part was fishing the lake. We caught more bass than we knew what to do with. Average bass size was 1-2lbs. Biggest bass caught was 23 inches and 7.1lbs. The side yard has a really nice fireplace and there is a charcoal grill as well. Overall a really great place to stay. Sally was wonderful to interact with. Her husband Matt was great too. Really great communicators when we had questions or needs arise. Would definitely come back again and plan to in the future.

Wonderful property; lots of things to do
We had a fun time tooling around Chandler Lake this week. The house was spacious (there were 8 of us) and the beds were comfy. Sally and Matt, the property managers, were extremely helpful and friendly. It made our trip that much better! 10/10 would stay here again.

We had a great time. I had a group of gals from all over the country in to celebrate our friendship since childhood. You have to slow down once in awhile and appreciate each other. This was a great place to do that.

Great spot to participate in outdoor activities. We enjoyed all the water craft provided, fishing, fire pit, rental of pontoon boat and swimming at the sandbar. We hiked in the park across the road and did a day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Home owner provided many boxed games and movies that we enjoyed nightly. Day of shopping in Traverse City was fun for the teens. Lots of outdoor seating areas and places to eat your meals. Kitchen was well stocked and we ate all our meals at the house but one. Costco and airport is about 14 minutes from cottage. Only concern is for people with mold allergies. The cottage hadn’t been in use the week before we arrived and there was a mildew odor in the lower level. Sally Washington, the property manager, did an excellent job responding to our needs during our stay. I would recommend this rental if you enjoy outdoor activities and a lake cottage environment.

Lake paradise for the whole family
We had a comfortable and very relaxing stay on quiet and adorable Chandler Lake. It was a great home base for exploring the area from dining in Traverse City to hiking at Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Relaxing on Lake
We enjoyed our week at Chandler’s Dream. The cottage was comfortable and worked for those who had to work remotely. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking. The cottage is located close enough to TC to easily go pick up food or groceries. The best part was the outdoor areas — lots of seating options, all overlooking the peaceful lake. We highly recommend that you rent the pontoon boat for the week — we spent a lot of time cruising around the lake orjust floating. Fire pit is nice, too!

Fantastic stay!
Wonderful house for our families - 4 adults and 4 kids under age 6. The lake was perfect to introduce novice boat riders - not a ton of traffic or wake, but ideal for daily pontoon cruises. Plenty of space and very comfy beds and couches. Our only *slight* negative was a lack of dishwasher, but that was easily made up for by the positives. Hosts were welcoming and very communicative. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing Vacation!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chandlers Dream. Sally and Matt were helpful and so welcoming! We loved having the kayaks and access to the boat. The house was spotless upon our arrival and had everything we needed. Evening campfires and early mornings on the water gave us fond memories until we come again next year! Chandler's Lake cottage
We had a very relaxing weekend on Chandler's Lake. We love Traverse City and vacation up in this area at least once or twice every summer. Chandler lake is a quiet little lake. My son loved kayaking together to the little island to swim. We rented the pontoon and went out fishing many times. Sally gives her full attention to any questions or concern you have and explains the property and area well. It was so great to be up north again.

This property is on a peaceful lake, tucked into the woods where you feel away from it all. It has that great cottage up-north charm with amenities for all who come. The lake was refreshing to swim or kayak in. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view of the lake or sit around the fire.

The property was located on a beautiful lake. The sandbar in the middle was great to get out on and float. There was plenty of room in the house and everything we could possibly need in the kitchen. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. That location was great to the stores in the local pizza joint. We did a lot of relaxing and playing cards. The house also provided lots of games. The house also included kayaks which we used and loved. The best part was the lake was usually very quiet and relaxing.

Pros: Property manager was nice, commmunicative and available. Easy check in. Great views on quiet lake. Good location to wineries and shopping. Walking trail near house. Cons: House smelled of old cigarettes. Musty smell in basement. Nothing replacing the carpet and a dehumidifier probably couldn’t fix. Inside could use updates and outdoor areas some tlc.

Lots to do!
The house accommodated our 6 adults and 2 toddlers very nicely. We rented the pontoon boat and enjoyed going around the lake. The toddlers played at the small beach area and there was good bluegill and bass fishing from the shore or dock. Chandler Lake is usually very peaceful for using the available kayaks. The kitchen was well equipped, (although no dishwasher). There's a new bathroom/shower in the lower level master bedroom (it has a loud up-flow pump system and you have to get used to it). The family room had a large picture window view of the lake. The location - close to restaurants, wineries, golf, children's museum, Mission Point made this a great all-around summer vacation!

Beautiful location, peaceful and relaxing! Close enough to Traverse City to enjoy all the amenities but far enough out to get away from crowds. Had Shipt deliver groceries to us on arrival day and through the week, so didn’t even need to grocery shop!

Simply the Best
This property, its location, and its amazing hosts are simply the best. We we delighted by the cottage's cozy but spacious interior. It felt like we were home, yet guests, all at the same time. The kitchen is incredibly equipped, which was appreciated since we made many of our meals in. Lots of comfortable outdoor seating on the terraced lake-facing property. It sits near the end of the road, which afforded us a quiet retreat. We enjoyed sitting by the firepit after day exploring the peninsulas. Chandler Lake is a quite inland lake that offered plenty of space to tour around in the rented pontoon boat that Sally arranged for us. The wildlife and birds were a thrill to observe. The property's host, Sally, was incredibly friendly, gracious and hospitable. We did not want for anything, but should we have, I know that Sally would have been there to assist in a moment's notice. We cannot wait to stay again!
