Bass Lake waterfront cottage close to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes!

Whitetail cottage is located on Bass Lake just 10 minutes from Traverse City and about 30 minutes from the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Bass Lake is an all-sports lake but best suited for fishing and kayaking. The cottage is located on 500 feet of sandy beach frontage. A charcoal grill is on the deck overlooking the beach and a fire pit on the beach with plenty of firewood is available for renters. Two kayaks are available for renters to use for free and we also have two paddleboards that can be rented by the day. The cottage has two bedrooms with queen beds and two bathrooms. There is a strict 4 person limit due to township rules. The upstairs bathroom has a tub and the downstairs bathroom has a newly renovated walk-in shower. The upstairs, where bedrooms are located, has lower than standard ceilings so if you are more than 6 feet tall, you might consider renting here carefully. If you don't like dogs, this property is probably not for you. We have doodles and a couple of other pups that frequent the beach area and they love people. They will want to come and say hi at some point, guaranteed! Traverse City is famous for many summer festivals and restaurants, but we can also offer easy access to a quiet lake and a beautiful trail system right out of your backyard. Our proximity to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore makes our location perfect for those seeking beauty, freshwater beaches, and gorgeous vistas! We have something for everyone! Great Getaway

The perfect get away!
This was the perfect place for our friend weekend getaway. The house is right on the lake, which was so perfect and serene. Location is close to downtown Traverse City and Sleeping Bear dune. Jodi was super responsive to our messages and questions - we look forward to staying here again.

We had a nice time with our two kiddos. Great fishing, kayaks provided, super nice host, and convenient location. We checked out the Cherry Featival in TC and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Would stay again!

Beautiful spot on the lake
Quaint and quiet cottage right on the lake. Enjoyed having the kayaks available. Also, enjoyed the fire pit on the beach. Close to Traverse City and all it has to offer.

Beautiful View
The cabin location was fanastic, right on the lake. Bass lake was quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed the kayaks and my son loved fishing on the dock. The house was clean and rustic. The neighborhood was private and felt safe. We enjoyed adventuring around TC and other surrounding areas. The host was easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful property and great time
We had a blast. Cute clean cabin with everything you need. We did a lot of fun activities in the area but our kids kept wanting to go back to this cabin so we could fish, kayak, swim. Had no problems during our stay. Beds are so comfortable. Love the big walk in shower downstairs. We spent so much time just sitting in the chairs looking out at the beautiful lake.

Cozy house by Bass Lake
This was our second stay on Bass Lake, but first in this location. We really appreciated having access to a beach and kayaks, plus the fire pit was excellent. The house has all the things you would want for a long stay, plus the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. The owners were attentive and friendly, and made us feel welcome. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent again. P.S. I recommend bringing a pitcher-type water filter with you. Its a little bit more convenient than buying water by the gallon.

Relaxing get away
Just what we wanted. Relaxing get away cabin with the ability to fish right in front of the property. Very quiet at night. Perfect if you want to curl up with a book or if you want to kayak on the lake. We caught bass, perch and bluegill from our kayaks. Recommend bringing fishing gear if you like to fish.

Great little cottage with a view!
This is a great small cottage with a lovely lake view. Well equipped kitchen and the washer-dryer is a bonus. Very quiet and peaceful area of Bass Lake. This is not a swimming lake, but it is pretty to look at. We enjoyed our coffee on the deck every morning. Jody is quick to respond and a helpful host. My only request would be to clean the windows so that beautiful view shines through!

Spectacular Place!
This is our first time in Traverse City, and this place offers a wide variety of things to do- hammocking, kayaking, relaxing under the stars, pondering at the bonfire, and driving less than 15 miles to town. Our family enjoyed staying in the unit. Note: The second floor is designed for people with heights less than 6’. Thank you, Jody, for your efforts!

Great stay. Great Lake.
Our stay at the cottage was amazing. Bass Lake was quiet and relaxing. Perfect little beach and access to kayaks was a plus. We traveled with our children 3 and 1 and they had a great time. The cottage has everything you could need and the location is close to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Quick to get to other sites or just enjoy the time on Bass Lake. Jody was a great host. Easy to get in touch with and quick to respond. We loved our time in the cottage and would love to return our next trip up to Traverse City area.

Cute little cottage
The cottage was perfect. Had everything we needed for our stay. Check in was easy. The cottage is cute and very clean. Beach area is sandy even though the lake area has a lot of weeds. Appreciated not having to bring or purchase firewood. Wish we could have checked in a little earlier, but we knew the check in was 4:00 when we made the reservation. Short drive to Traverse City. Would rent again.

Family Vacation
It was a lovely house, well designed and well kept. Perfect for our family of four! It was comfortable for my four year old and one year old, and having access to the beach and lake in the back was beyond IDEAL! It was quiet and we felt like we had the lake to ourselves! We even took advantage of the kayaks that are available for use! We truly felt that it was the perfect location to get to Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Traverse City and the surrounding areas! The owners were kind and attentive, and quick to help if anything was needed! I highly recommend this property to anyone, especially families!

Great location right n the lake
We had a wonderful time in the Traverse City area. The hime was well kept and stocked with the necessities. Jody greeted us with music playing and even let us check in a little early. The hime has new towels, plenty of linens,pans, games, and even firewood. The location was peaceful and fun. Plenty of room for 4 adults. We got to meet Ben and Teddy, the cutest dogs a couple of cottages down. Jody called to check on us throughout our stay. We appreciated the family sharing their hime with us and the hospitality while we were there!
