"This place was cool, and had an emphasis on Americanism, with President roooms including a JFK room. It was really nice to experience! We noticed lot of school kids stayed in the hotel, probably for the American historical context, or that it was just right by one of the main train stops. Either way, the people in this area are all so nice and friendly, way more thab the big city of Tokyo. Genuinely enjoyed our stay around this place, and there's a ton of food options nearby, including a giant mall. The room we stayed in was pretty big, and the hotel staff are very helpful! Definitely reccomend staying here to explore the area, and to go visit Otsu and Koka Ninja House which isnt far from this hotel."

"The location is perfect. Only a two minute walk from the station, completely covered overhead. A plaza is right across from the station. The room is spacious and quiet. Staff is professional and efficient. It was a wonderful stay."

"The 5 stars is based on the Expedia value and I arrived after dark. With current exchange I paid $46usd for a standard double room. The property has blemishes but it was a tremendous value (even before exchange). My experience was one night and I didn't soak in the public bath. But the residents appeared to enjoy it. I would definitely look at this property again if I'm in Nagahama."

"The hotel's reception area is situated on the fourth floor, and parking is available in a separate building, which may be inconvenient for guests with a significant amount of luggage. "If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. However rooms and common room air conditioned which was a life saver in the hight of a Japanese summer. The Hostel is not located near any shops and not close to the train station so be prepared to do some serious walking or better rent a bike whilst you are there."

"Extreme proximity to train station a priority. This means trains can also be heard from many rooms. Even though the soundproofing is good, this can be bothersome for a sensitive guest. Clean spacious room. Wonderful staff. Good breakfast."
