We've just come back from 5 days at 'No Place' cottage and loved every minute of it. The cottage is cosy, but not 'small' cosy, because the rooms were all a really good size. It had everything we needed. The grounds are where this place excels. It's the reason we went for it and so glad we did. The photos show a lot, but it was bigger and more spread out than we expected. We went as a family of 4, with 2 girls, aged 8 & 11. The kids loved exploring all the land available to us, all in safety.
The hosts live next door and were very welcoming but not at all intrusive, very nice people in fact. In the cottage they set out a little welcome package with goodies which was a very nice touch.
As in the photos, there are various benches to sit down and relax, swings for the kids, treehouse for everyone. There are woods and meadows to explore. The camp fire really made our holiday, we spent hours around it every evening.
The location is very quiet, about 10 minutes drive from Torrington where they is a small town centre. If you're after food, we went to the New Inn in Robourgh, about 5 minutes drive away, which was very nice.
For a day out, we'd recommend hiring bikes from Torrington to go on the 'Tarka Trail', which is an old railway line, so nice and flat. You can be in Bideford in just over an hour at a very leisurely pace, but the trail itself goes on for miles if you want to go further.
