Mountview Getaway by Tiny Away is a quaint, farm stay within a 30-minute drive from Townsville City. The property features expansive grassed areas, perfect for leisurely activities or simply enjoying the natural surroundings. Not far from the coast, it offers direct access to local gems like Castle Hill Lookout and Billabong Sanctuary in Townsville. Close to Little Crystal Creek and Paluma Range National Park, it’s ideal for going to Jourama Falls for a scenic hike.
A comfortable, 139-square-foot accommodation is set in one of the best tiny house rentals and serene locations with abundant natural bushland, easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny house and surrounding areas. The farm stay area is about 20 acres with outdoor dining areas, swings, and dog day pens.

This location offers a unique blend of Australia's rugged bushland and the lively coastal character of Townsville. It positions visitors perfectly to explore the nearby vibrant coral reefs and the tranquil, forests of Paluma Range National Park.
Here, the contrast between the sprawling outback and the wet tropics ties in the adventurous spirit of both the coast and the hinterland.
Our local recommendations:
- Jourama Falls is in Paluma Range National Park. It’s a nice hike that provides serene spots for camping, leisurely walks, and bird and wildlife watching.
- Little Crystal Creek boasts crystal-clear waters and pristine waterfalls. Escape the summer heat with a dip in the cool waters surrounded by a rainforest canopy.
- Billabong Sanctuary provides Australia’s top interactive wildlife encounter. It showcases native and some exotic animals in their natural habitats of eucalypt forests, rainforests, and wetlands.
- Castle Hill Lookout is on Townsville's pink granite monolith that serves as an ideal landmark for visitors. The panoramic views from the summit are breathtaking, especially during sunrise or sunset.
- Paluma Range National Park is the gateway to Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Escape the coastal heat and unwind in refreshing mountain air and take in stunning rainforest walks and scenic vistas from McClellands Lookout.
Getting Around:
By car:
- From Townsville city center, it's approximately a 30-minute drive.
- Once you pass the locality of Cluden, continue on the highway until you reach Toonpan. The area is directly accessible from the main road.
-The route is suitable for any 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive vehicle.
If exploring more rural or undeveloped areas around Toonpan, a 4-wheel drive may be necessary, especially in wet conditions.
By public transport:
- There are no direct train services to Toonpan. The closest major transport hub is Townsville.
- From Townsville, you can use local bus services or taxi/ride-sharing options to reach Toonpan.
- The journey by bus or taxi typically takes about 30-40 minutes from the city center, depending on traffic conditions.

- Wifi is not available
- Gas BBQ Grill is available
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Smoking is allowed in certain areas on the property
- Please note that pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas and clean after your pet’s droppings
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out courtesy of other guests
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Mobile reception has good signals for Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone; Weak signals for 2degrees and Spark

- Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
