"Close to Parque Cespedes and Parque Alameda and points of Historical interest in the city. In a district that also housed the children's hospital so I only experienced one short power outage during my 3 day stay. The owner went above and beyond with service: breakfast ($5), dinner ($7) and laundry (varies) with meal service on the rooftop terrace with wonderful views of the port and city. Served to order with drinks and music! All of that plus a no-charge dropoff at the bus terminal in his 1950...

The water didn't work , and then we realized that the owener wanted to rent for another bigger group of friends... Incredible. "I arrived to the Hostel and was met by Laritza and Magalis. They were welcoming and so kind. They gave me information about the area, and gave me advice about where to go and what to see. I had booked dance lessons, but wasn't sure how to get to the location. Laritza called and got directions for me, and made sure I knew how to get there and back. The breakfast was delicious. A real luxury in Cuba, with an egg, fruit, good strong coffee and freshly squeezed juice. I ate on the patio...

"This casa was AMAZING. We had the best time and the hosts were incredible at helping us with arranging salsa classes, trips outside of Santiago, getting taxis, doing laundry and even access to wifi. The breakfast on the terrace was a daily highlight and absolutely delicious. Everyone in the house was so nice and kept our room clean. The location is great, quiet but accessible to all the main sites. It was such a great trip to Santiago and that was definitely due to this choice of accommodation."

"The best and only way to experience Cuba is to stay with a Cuban family. The friendliest, most gracious, most soulful people on Earth. Masiel and Samuel are gentle, caring hosts who take great pride in giving their guests a wonderful experience in Santiago. Their home is only several blocks from the Center, which is a good distance for quiet respite. The breakfast was simply fabulous!! The air conditioning was as cold as we needed to refresh ourselves and sleep well, and the showers were warm....
