An hospitable modern and cozy apartment located next to Victoriei Square (Piața Operei) in the old town of Timișoara.
Penthouse style, top floor, open-plan, with an awesome balcony, large windows and plenty of natural light in the whole apartment. Central, yet quiet and cozy. Ammenities carefully designed for a comfortable weekly stay.
PS: If your dates are unavailable check out my other apartment - Opera Lavendel - same location, same ammenities.
It's an modern style apartament with plenty of natural light. The dedicated workspace is part of the large bedroom - next to the windows you'll find a nice desk with an ergonomic office chair and a wireless charger.
You will sleep in a queen-size high bed (200x160) with a memory foam mattress (lots of previous guests really enjoyed the bed), a soft quilt and a variety of pillows to choose from. Some of the pillows in the pictures are decorative, but there are 2 extra pillows, more firm. The bedroom features heavy room-darkening drapes, for a good sleeping environment and also two mirrors - for those times you want your reflection on display.
Beneath the large mirror in the bedroom, there's a yoga mat for your daily morning routine.
You can find a medium-sized closet with hangers and a dresser where you can unpack your belongings. You have an ironing board and an iron in the bedroom (find them in the dresser).
The large bathroom is a highlight for an apartment in Timisoara and features a huge vanity mirror that you have to check out. There's a large sink just beneath it, and a washing machine. A deep hot tub occupies the other side of the bathroom. You'll also find extra towels, a hair dryer, and self-care essentials (shower gel, shampoo, soap) if you forgot to bring your own.
The kitchen is fully-equipped and practical. It has an induction stove for fast cooking, an electrical oven with precise temperature control, a dishwasher, a compact fridge with freezer, a full set of dishes and silverware. Take not that the kitchen island features wheels.
You can find glasses of all shapes and sizes in a cupboard above the dishwasher: crystal-cut wine glasses (yeah, prosecco glasses too) coffee cups and water glasses.
In the kitchen, there's an espresso machine that works with multiple coffee capsules: Nespresso, Nescafe Dolce Gusto or Tchibo. There are some small espresso cups available. There are a couple complimentary coffee capsules on a shelf, but ask me for extra coffee service if needed. Timisoara offers plenty of coffee houses tho. Instant coffee and an intalian moka are also availble.
The living room welcomes you with a four-person dining table with comfy chairs. The table is glass, so use the protection mats provided - on top of the board games collection.
A large TV with HD digital cable and a Netflix guest account await you in front of the living room sofa, but also a stationary bike on the other side of the open space, if you prefer a more active lifestyle, but inside the apartment.
The living room sofa extends to a comfy 140x200 double size bed that can accomodate two people, making the apartment perfect to host four people, and the perfect spot to explore the main square.
The apartment has a balcony where you can get some fresh air, have a private conversation, or maybe enjoy a smoke outside. The balcony is connected to the living room and has a drying rack, for that fresh clothes scent.
The building has an integrated central heating system so you can expect an indoor temperature of about 21-22° Celsius during winter, but you'll have access to air conditioning to adjust the temperature and humidity to your liking.
Yeah... and you can find a lot of natural plants in the apartment. Dracena plan next to the bedroom has lived inside the apartment for over 15 years.
Note: I would not recommend sleeping with the windows open if sound-sensitive. The apartment is really close to the Metropolitan Cathedral, you can expect bell sounds in the morning while having the windows open. Also cleaning crews clean the streets every night around midnight, and twice a week the trash gets picked up around 4am.
The building has an intercom that uses a card for access, also an elevator. No stairs unless you want some cardio up to the 7th floor.
The entrance of the building and the elevator look pretty old, but are in perfect working condition.
Free street parking next to the building on weekends, and after 8pm. During weekdays payed street parking in entire Timisoara via TPARK app or sms is available. Two private parkings nearby too.
I'm available by text, phone or email, and I'd love to show you around town.
Located on Piatra Craiului street, the apartment is right next to Victory Square (Piața Operei), the city center of Timișoara. Just steps away, you'll find the Metropolitan Orthodox Cathedral and The Opera, while a short stroll leads you to the Bega River promenade. Don't miss the opportunity to explore during the golden hour—it's truly breathtaking.
There are some downsides to accommodation in city center: the parking spots can be hard to find during the day, and the central square is full of people during the holidays, or on sunny days.
The old town, or Cetate neighborhood, boasts a plethora of dining options and cozy cafes, as well as three recently opened cinemas, Timiș, Victoria and Studio. Additionally, there are a couple of museums, three theaters, and an abundance of activities to enjoy.
Convenience is key with two 24/7 mini markets near the apartment - one across the street - and a Mega Image just a street away. The closest supermarket, Lidl, is only a 15-minute walk, on Circumvalatiunii Blvd.
For added convenience, you'll find maps and flyers in the apartment highlighting tourist-friendly restaurants and cultural activities in and around Timișoara.
Timisoara's city center is accessible by nearly any mode of transportation (including boats). Almost all public transit routes pass through the center, either near the Orthodox Cathedral or Piata Libertatii. There are two taxi stations nearby - Modex and Piata 700. Additionally, bike and scooter rentals are available in the city center if you prefer not to use cars.
In the apartment, you'll find a map of the center as well as maps for public transit.
I do recommend you to try a vaporetto trip down the Bega river, the nearest station is next to the Cathedral.
No smoking inside (you have a balcony), no late night parties, and no loud noises after 11pm.
In the spirit of reasonable usage:
There are several coffee and tea varieties available at your disposal free of charge, and if you run out you can purchase more from Mega Image (100m away, on Bd. Republicii), or request extra for aditional cost.
A couple dishwasher and washing machine tables are provided free of charge. You can buy more, or request extras for a cost.
There are some beverages in the apartment and you can have a drink on us if you fancy, but finishing a bottle without replacing it will get taxed as an extra service.
Garbage must be collected selectively. Plastic, paper, cardboard, aluminium in the big bin, generic waste in the red bin - both in the kitchen.
Anything that breaks, gets damaged or gets dirty during the stay, must be replaced or reported before checkout, as this is a home, not a hotel, we don't have infinite money to cover everything. A reimbursement request will be started for damaged/missing items.
If in doubt with something, or having some problems, just shoot a message, I live nearby and we can sort it quickly.
