Staff is polite and helpful. Several eating establishments nearby. The restaurants close early in the evening. At the time I called there weren't any Ubers available but a staff member or neighbor walked a block and summoned a taxi. The closest ATM is at Wal-Mart. The staff told me they don't get many women so there were only two women in the large womens dorm. The other hostel on the next block no longer has a womens dorm. I have stayed in close to one hundred hostels and this is the first time a housekeeper has made my bed during my stay. The front desk folks speak fluent English. Big screen TV, foos ball, pool table and weight lifting. No breakfast but, coffee during the morning in the lobby. One day there was no hot water in the womens shower but, other days had enough hot H2O. My plane did not leave until after midnight. The staff invited me to stay in lobby after I checked out. I am disabled but, the staff were eager to carry my luggage up and down stairs. I did not use the washer and dryer but, they were conveniently located near the dorms. Inside the front doors are stairs leading up to front desk. Large world map on wall, magazines on table in lobby. My wash cloth disappeared, Someone probably took by mistake. Looked like there were at least two private rooms. There are other nearby sleeping accommodations but, not as reasonably priced as the North Hostel. I did not notice anyone drinking alcohol and didn't notice any in the kitchen. Maybe not a party hostel? Quiet.
