Peaceful and cozy! Murray Cove Cottage On Beautiful Lake Burton

Located just 1 1/2 hours north of Atlanta, and 2 hours from Greenville,S.C. , Lake Burton is the premier mountain lake destination of Georgia.
This cozy renovated fishing retreat has lots of windows to view the beautiful lake from every room . The yard is fenced in and has six Adirondack chairs surrounding a large fire pit. There is also a comfy front porch with a large sofa and two arm chairs to view the sunsets. Inside, There are 2 queen size beds and a queen size sleeper sofa. Amenities include WiFi and Smart TV.
Our swim dock and boat house are designed for optimal lake enjoyment.The top of the boat house has a dining table and two sofas, and an umbrella to allow sun protection. The swim dock below is also equipped with lounge chairs and umbrellas. We have recently added two paddle boards for our guest’s enjoyment.
Rental rates are as posted on VRBO. There are discounts for extended stays.
During the summer months we require a week long rental with check in/check out on Sundays. Special rates and check ins apply to major holidays as well.
Minimum Nights Stay varies based on the season from 2 nights in the off season to 7 nights with a Sunday check in/check out date in the summer (see the calendar for available dates). The weekly rental requirement during the summer helps cut down on the wear and tear so we hope you understand.
Special holidays like Memorial Day ( 4 nights stay with a Thursday check in and Monday check out), Fourth of July ( weekly rental only) and Labor Day (4 nights stay with a Thursday check in and Monday Check out) have their own rules and rates. There are discounts for weekly and monthly rentals that apply.

Beautiful cottage in Murray Cove
My family of 5 (kids ages 12, 10 & 8) just returned from several days on Lake Burton. The Freeman's cottage was perfect for our family. Very well equipped with everything we needed. We ate most meals on the boathouse! We used the paddle boards every day, and enjoyed playing games on the cozy front porch. This was our 7th summer staying on Lake Burton, and although first time staying in this cottage, it will not be our last!

Perfect Family 50th Bday
Our family had an amazing time at the lake, celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday. Everything at the property was on point so that we could completely relax, even down to the utensils in the kitchen, which allowed us to take turns cooking meals for her.

Fantastic
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Freeman Cottage. Not only is the home beautifully decorated and maintained, Laura and Matt made sure everything about our stay was easy and relaxing. What a gorgeous vacation home you have! Everything is new and beautifully furnished and decorated. We loved the breathtaking view from just about anywhere in the house. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely view, a clean and uncluttered cottage that was extremely well decorated, as well as hikes to waterfalls and a trip to Fred Hamilton Garden. This last was an informal garden filled with blooming rhododendrons and dogwoods. It was a perfect vacation.

Cozy Lake Burton cabin
We had a wonderful trip. House was perfect in every way. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved the comfortable decor. All the beds were super comfy, Outdoor shower was an added bonus! Gorgeous cottage with beautiful Lake Burton view!
My friends and I stayed at Murray Cove Cottage for a wedding at Lake Burton. The house is absolutely lovely and we loved relaxing on the dock. It was exactly what we were looking for when trying to find a place for the weekend. Whether sitting in the house with the large windows, sitting on the porch, or hanging out on the dock, the view was incredible. We will certainly be back! Wonderful Fall Break Getaway
We had a wonderful long weekend at Murray Cove Cottage. The house was so beautiful and the view of the lake was amazing from any room in the house. Our girls loved spending time out on the docks. No luck catching any fish, but they had a great time trying. We loved meeting the Freemans. They were very helpful and wonderful hosts. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We had such a relaxing weekend. We hope to be back again soon.

We love The Cottage!
This is one of our favorite places! My wife and I were among the first to stay in The Cottage when the renovations were nearly complete. Matt and Laura included many special touches — see if you can find the repurposed flooring from the old front porch. The views from the home and the dock are spectacular. The dock is close enough to watch the kids play in the water. The Cottage is perfect for couples, families, weekend getaways, and a cocktail or two. Lake Burton has a sort of New England charm that you must see for yourself.
