"Our host was exemplary in showing us the local area. We had a deeply moving experience at both Kataragama and Tissamaharama. Pradath is an excellent resource for All things Sri Lanka. The accommodations are first rate. Big comfortable bed. Modern shower and tub. A/C and Wi-fi work great. Excellent meals prepared. It is the perfect spot to retreat in the evening. We heartily recommend it and will hopefully return. "

"I booked my cabana several months in advance. When I arrived the hotel was closed for renovations and they had forgotten to inform me. So at 6pm I needed to try and find another hotel in peak season. I ended up pay having to pay double the price for a new hotel of a similar standard. Plus the expense of data on my phone to find it. Plus the time driving round to look at other hotels. No compensation from the hotel or even a written apology. They offered to let me stay in a cabana but I didn’t...

"My room has lovely high ceilings and a fresh, clean interior. The is a lovely view of the rice paddies. The staff are so lovely and helpful. The safari they organised was exceptional value. Most importantly thier home-cooking is excellent. "

Superior Room and the Family Room both a good size with a small bar fridge; air-conditioning & ceiling fan; comfortable king bed (made with two single beds); desk with draws; clothes hanging rack; luggage rack with small shelf underneath; bedside lamps & tables; and a shared balcony. "All in all, happy to stay here, just be prepared to do a lot of extra work to check-in. The location is incorrectly indicated on Facebook, TripAdvisor & hotels.com, and is 10km north of Tissa. Easily accessed by public transit if you've got the correct address. Make sure they know you're coming, as they were unaware I had made the reservation. If you can't find their phone #, try them on Facebook, or worst case scenario, go to to their Tile & Bathroom Shop, next to Sampath Bank... Don't...

"Cabanas located in trees - you are literally sleeping outside. Different experience, but nice. Be aware that animals may enter, and the river is very close by, so maybe not so good for people who needs complete silence to sleep. Staff very helpful and nice!"
