"Hotel in very good condition with comfortable room and off street parking. Room was very clean and staff were excellent "

"This property has been owned by the same family since 1865! They were very friendly and welcoming. There is also a restaurant on site that we dined at twice and it was delicious. They also had a typical German breakfast but also would make eggs cooked to order, which was nice. The room was very comfortable. The only thing that hat could be an issue is that there are loud church bells going off every 15 minutes. It didn’t bother us too much but if you are sensitive to noise it could be an issue. Also, we had our windows open for fresh air and so the cars going by were pretty loud. Again, it didn’t bother us but something to think about. There are also additional amenities on site that we didn’t use so I can’t speak to those. There was plenty of parking as well. The town itself was very small but there were grocery stores a short drive away. "

"I’ve stayed in many hotels and this is by far the best! Everyone is helpful and friendly. The room is very clean. Spotless. For the price I paid it was very reasonable and worth every cent. The hotel doesn’t have AC but you can borrow a fan. I kept the windows open and it was comfortable. I paid for buffet breakfast in advance and it was delicious. A good variety of food. There’s a bar but we didn’t use it. The hotel is a short walking distance to town. Right next door is a water park that was awesome! Behind the hotel is a nice open space good for picnic and biking. Can’t say anything bad about this place. They’re very environmentally friendly. I will surely be back when I’m in Amberg. "

"First our bathtub was clogged and each day we showered in more the 6-8” of water. At one point there was hair (not mine or my husbands) backing up into the water. Second, the shower door that was installed had a broken rubber strip on the bottom of the door. So every time we showered it left over an inch of on the floor. How it was not flooding the downstairs unit I have no idea. Third, our safe wouldnt unlock. Fourth, our room shared a wall with the sauna, the heat in our room was almost unbearable. If this room is going to be used for guest it should at the min. have an ac unit. We were only there for two quick nights, getting in late the night of. The next day, because of not having a working safe we did not want maintenance coming in while we were out for the day. When we checked out early the next day, I mentioned all the items to the front desk and the response was “thank you, we will let maintenance know”… I would have expected an apology or even some sort of compensation. It was very disappointing. On a positive note, breakfast was great! And the service in the restaurant was top notch! "
