The lodge was located far enough away from the nearest town, which was Thermopolis, WY, to make arriving there feel like it was an oasis in the high-dessert, sagebrush hills. It had a perfectly sized and maintained lawn which we used for kickball/whiffle ball games with the kids and for corn hole games with the adults. The tire swing was a huge hit with the grandkids. The kitchen was large accommodated lots of food and buffet-style meals. The oven was a little quirky and heats unevenly, but we figured it out. We would have really liked an outdoor gas grill for cooking.
We were admittedly a little hesitant about the remoteness of the lodge, but it turned out great! We had a great time with no noisy neighbors. The bird watching by the pond and campfires by the fire pit were fun. The lodge was very nice and comfortable. Everyone had a bed and the mattresses were actually comfortable. The dining areas were spacious. Recommend bringing pots and pans for any special food you want to prepare. There is no griddle or large frying pan provided for the stove so plan accordingly. Other than that, the kitchen is fully stocked. Lots of towels for everyone and the water pressure was fabulous. We did park inside the gated property due to the abundant free range cows. Our experience tells us cars make great scratching posts with broken side mirrors and dents received in the past. Lastly, the front porch is great for sunrises and watching T-Storms. Great place! Would recommend it highly.
