"If you have time (we had a month) and you are feeling jaded then a week at Saku boutique homestay is for you! Hosts Saku and Denny - two enterprising, sprightly characters will attend to your needs, provide airport shuttles and even dinner and laundry (if needed). They are two entertaining guides who want you to have a great time. We took an excursion with them to Chang Rai - blue temple and the white temple and a tea plantation. Saku and Denny are experienced hosts and worldly wise with a great sense of humour - ‘if you please’. 😉 Super clean and super friendly, the homestay is out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre but this means that you can relax, unwind and use fast wi-fi to plan. The plunge pool is a must on a hot day, especially after a trip to the hosts’ organic lime farm or Chiang Mai’s wholesale flower market. Thoroughly recommend. Hire a moped - the local back lanes are full of surprises and interest. "

"Awesome room. It's 2 bdr 2 bath! The views are awesome and the beds are comfortable. I would suggest adding a microwave. Otherwise, bring instant noodle snacks. "

"Nice and comfortable, the bedroom was in great condition and balcony was really nice. Air con was also working, although we didn’t need it for our stay. We did notice a spot of old blood on the duvet but it seemed like a stain, and was otherwise definitely clean. They also provided a kettle and coffee for the morning, and assisted us with a late check in."

"Very unique experience in these rustic but rather perfect cottages. Only complaint would be the outdoor shower definately could be hotter. Otherwise king bed was comfy, perfect pillows. One other person in the pool during our 3 day stay. If you want peace from busy city, this is the place. About 30 min from Chiang Mai airport. We took grab into Chiang Mai sunday market, and it was no problem, about 30 min each way. Cute village areas out in Hang Dong. I would stay again! Staff were great too."

"I nicely put my skin care and cosmetics on the table and took a picture of it before left the room. But once I return to my room in the evening, some of my cosmetics didn't placed in the same position. Even my perfume which I put in the closed box, the box kept opened when I return to the room. Then we never asked for the cleaning service again on the next day."

"Overall it’s a nice place. Especially the design and the atmosphere. Very beautiful outdoors. I would call it five-ish stars hotel. The cleanliness of the sheets could to better (see photos of the mattress Skirt or the napkin in the room) but I can’t say it bothered me enough to ask to replace it. Had to come out and sort the check out when ordering room service (even though I notified I have credit for the room) - was a bit annoying but everything sorted. Biggest disadvantage is that you are pretty far out from the city - so that would cost time and money on rides. And of course- you are mainly going to order food in the hotel area which is always annoying. Even though it is pretty far and quieter than in town - you still hear noises like cars and people (stuff) walking and talking - at least in the room I had facing the pool side. They have a golf course just 1 min walk away so I guess that’s good if you play golf. The staff are very nice and respectful. Breakfast is ok, not great (the cheese plater needs to be bigger). Again overall it’s a good stay - and the difference between a good choice and could do better elsewhere - really depends what the price for the room. I think 110 usd (including tax) per night is a bit borderline."
