Beautiful hand-constructed log cabin nestled in the Big Hole Mountain Range in Teton Valley, Idaho. Come and enjoy the beautiful Teton Valley in this 4 bedroom custom built log cabin. This cabin was meticulously crafted using large hand-hewn logs and custom framework and staircases with amazing attention to detail.
The cabin front features unobstructed views of the Teton Mountains and valley. Situated on a large lot at the end of a dead-end road, the surrounding forest provides seclusion and privacy. You will want to spend a lot of time on the huge wrap-around deck that takes advantage of the amazing views. At night, with no street lights or light pollution you will be astounded by the number of stars and the prominence of the Milky Way. There are plenty of chairs to go around and a gas grill to cook your fresh trout.
Plenty of wildlife abounds in the area – keep an eye out for deer, elk, moose, coyote, badger, bald eagles, swans, geese, Kingfisher, Sandhill cranes, and numerous other birds. If you use the canoes to float the Teton River, watch for otter, beaver and moose.
The cabin has a total of 4 bedrooms and has beds for ~10. The lower (ground) level features a huge bedroom with a queen-size bed and a large window looking out over the Teton Mountain range. The second bedroom has log bunk beds. There is a bathroom with heated tile floors and granite counter top, and a laundry room on this level.
The main level features a bedroom with a queen sized bed, hardwood floor, and windows facing the forest. Keep the windows open at night and wake to the sounds of the numerous birds living here. The kitchen and living room both have views of the Tetons in front and the forest on either side. The kitchen/dining area has granite counter tops, hardwood floor, and a table that seats 8 or more. There is a bathroom with heated tile floors, granite countertops, and custom tile shower. The living room, which is open to the kitchen/dining area, has hardwood floor, 2 couches and a loveseat. It also has a woodstove to keep the cabin nice and warm during the cold winter months. Feel free to scatter sunflower seed and peanuts from the provided tins onto the long, log feeder just outside the living room window. Many different kinds of birds, as well as pine squirrels and chipmunks, enjoy feeding here. At night, watch closely on the feeder and you may see a flying squirrel or two feasting on the peanuts.
The loft features 1 queen bed, 1 full bed, and a small sofa bed. There is a large window facing the Tetons and another facing the national forest in the back.
There is a large circular driveway to accommodate a large number of cars and recreational vehicles.
The Teton River is just a few miles away and there are two nice canoes, paddles, and new life-jackets available for your use. The trout fishing here can be spectacular and there is a convenient and reasonable shuttle service if needed.
For a relaxing evening in, there are plenty of videos, books and games available for your use.
The town of Driggs is approximately 12 miles away and features a variety of excellent restaurants as well as a nice grocery store. There are many hiking trails in the Teton Valley. I recommend Table Mountain (a 12-mile round-trip hike) or Devil’s Stairs (an 8-mile round-trip hike) or just heading into the woods to find Packsaddle Lake.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming is just 47 miles over the Teton Pass and has numerous summer and winter activities. For other day trips, there is Yellowstone National Park (126 miles) and Grand Teton National Park (67 miles). Grand Targhee Ski Resort is a 30 or 40 minute drive and features amazing snow conditions, great terrain and low crowds and hosts several music festivals each summer.
For the golfers in your group, there are several very nice golf courses in the valley. I recommend Teton Reserve, Teton Lakes, and Huntsman Springs.
All of the pictures are very recent and taken only at the cabin.
