Born in the early twentieth century as a farmhouse belonging to an ancient local farm, Buca delle Fate is today a pleasant and reserved country home, ideal for a holiday inspired by slow and peaceful rhythms and in the name of nature and sport. . Renovated according to the dictates of local tradition, with rustic interiors in a classic Tuscan style, it has a spacious common area that extends over the pergola outside and a beautiful garden, cloaked in the silver of a thick olive grove that borders the property. . Located in the Valdarno area, between the Pratomagno ridge and the nearby Chianti region and halfway between Florence and Arezzo, and just a few kilometers from the Autostrada del Sole, Buca delle Fate owes its name to the geography of the place where it finds its happy and natural location. We are in the heart of one of the most evocative and seductive landscape of the valley, characterized by the presence of the so-called crags, rocky erosions formed following the drying up of a large lake that covered the Arno valley, and which many believe portrayed in the backgrounds of the paintings of the great Leonardo da Vinci. The crags offer enchanting sceneries in the hours of sunset, when the shadows creep into the furrows dug along the steep walls, which here are called holes, and which legend has it animated by fairy-tale presences. From the Setteponti road, the ancient link between Arezzo and Vallombrosa, along which the property is located, there are numerous CAI routes that allow you to explore the whole area of the crags on foot or by mountain bike, dotted with many rural architecture and Romanesque churches, where a rich past of history and art resurfaces and among which the famous basilica of Gropina, which dominates the built-up area of the village of Loro Ciuffenna, classified among the most beautiful villages in Italy. Interior:
The farmhouse is spread over two levels. The main entrance on the ground floor opens, through a French door from the external pergola, directly onto the living area where a welcoming living room, dining area and a spacious kitchen are concentrated in a single open space. A single room communicating with a double room with which it shares an en suite bathroom with shower complete the composition of the floor. Both ground floor bedrooms also have direct access to the garden via French windows. From the living room a stone staircase ends on the first floor where, around a hallway area, there are a single bedroom (with direct access to a terrace with seating area), a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and two bathrooms, one with shower and the other with shower and tub. Finally, the laundry is located outside, in a wooden structure next to the main entrance.
Park:
The farmhouse is located in a property of about 8000 square meters, most of which are intended for the cultivation of olive trees that give rise to an excellent extra virgin olive oil. The garden all around, completely fenced, is characterized by lawn areas bordered by Mediterranean aromatic borders and dotted here and there by olive trees, rose bushes and oleanders, and by many fruit trees such as peaches, plums, walnuts, apple trees and apricot. At guests' disposal there is also the garden cultivated by the owner from which to draw seasonal vegetables. A large pergola in front of the kitchen, framed by vines of passionflower and roses, houses the relaxation area with sofa and armchairs and the table for outdoor dining, with built-in barbecue and outdoor kitchen a short distance away. On the back, a second pergola surrounded by fragrant climbing wisteria is a perfect corner to relax immersed in the silence of the countryside. Immediately after the entrance gate to the property there is the parking area, about 50 m from the house.NB: It should be noted that the photo shoots are usually made in spring, therefore the colors and blooms of the gardens, lawns and parks may be different at the time of your entry into the villa.
Pool:
The swimming pool, open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October, is located in the center of the garden, at a slightly higher level than the house from which it is a few meters away and can be reached via a flight of 5 steps. The tub, with a nice bean shape, with a stone border and internal PVC lining, has an area of 40 square meters, and is equipped with a Roman staircase on one side. It is equipped with a cold water shower and lights both inside the tub and in the garden all around. The purification system is chlorine. In the sunbathing area, in wood and stone along the perimeter and then in the lawn dotted with olive trees in the surrounding area, there are sun beds, umbrellas and a wooden gazebo furnished with armchairs. Another swimming pool, available but not for the exclusive use of guests, is located about 50 m from the house, near the annex where the owners live. The tank has a rectangular shape with measures 12x6 m and a variable depth from 1.20m to 1.70m. It too has an outdoor shower with cold water and a large sunbathing area planted with lawn.
Pets: On request, small pets. Acceptance of animals to the facility must be previously authorised by the owner upon communication of the number of animals, size and breed.
