Rabbits scamper, buzzards soar and windows flood rooms with light in this cosy stable with glorious views. Let the kids and dogs roam free!
Stealing its name from the backdrop of ancient undisturbed woodland, the cottage and its surrounds make a natural family home – for both frazzled humans and local badgers. Winding
your way up the long peaceful track to this converted stable, you catch glorious glimpses of the Teme and Kyre valleys; the setting is spectacular. On arrival, you're greeted by the
delightful Ellie, whose grounds and beautifully tended English country garden you share. Generous windows flood rooms with light that bounces off polished elm floorboards; a wood-burner and Aga keep things cosy, the kitchen is handcrafted, the views are long and bucolic. Upstairs, bedrooms are brass-bedded and floral, tucked under the eaves in that cottagey way. You get a handy loo and basin up here, and a sparkling bathroom with a roll top tub downstairs. Lucky children have seven acres to romp in, and a secret treehouse with hammocks and a barbecue for midnight feasts. Resting on the borders of three counties, this is prime walking country. Bustling Ledbury and Ludlow, England's slow food capital, are just a drive away.
The cottage offers magnificent views in all directions-over the Teme and Kyre valleys, ancient woodland and unspoilt farmland. Longcover is a detached cottage in a very rural position. Guests will enjoy a private patio at the side which looks on to fish pools and an ancient oak woodland. Leading directly from the cottage is an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways where badgers and owls may be seen. Tenbury Wells, an attractive spa and market town in the Teme Valley, is 4 miles away. The fine Georgian town of Ludlow is 25 minute drive away.
