You will have full access to the cottage, dock and surrounding area during your stay, with exception to our bunkie which is rented out separately (though it has it’s own private area and dock and it’s unlikely you’ll see anyone during your stay). You are welcome to use our canoe and two kayaks. We provide paddles and standard adult life jackets. Please note that there are many stairs to the dock. We promise that it is worth it once you get down to the dock, but if you have any mobility issues, you may have trouble accessing the water.
The open concept kitchen, dining room and living room make the space feel big. It’s a cozy cottage with enough room for everyone to have their own space. With many windows, the cottage is bright and airy with a nice cross-breeze.
We have running water from a spring fed drilled well, and a new septic tank. We recommend you bring your own bottled drinking water (although we drink the well water, we cannot guarantee it’s safety). We ask that you please not flush anything other than the septic-safe toilet paper we provide, and be mindful of water usage during your stay. The cottage is not equipped with laundry or a dishwasher at this time.
We have installed a brand new solar system that should not run out of power during your stay. However, we ask that guests be aware of their usage so as not to deplete the batteries. For example, the toaster, blow driers, hair straighteners and other high power appliances should be used in the morning to allow time to recharge the batteries.
Wifi is available at our cottage. Though we encourage you to spend your days outside, your nights laughing with friends and family and to save the Wifi for a rainy day. For WFH folks, we have recently added a small desk in the loft so you can have your own space to focus when necessary. The desk is equipped with basic office supplies if you are missing anything to get your work done.
One bedroom offers a king size bed, while the second room holds a double. The loft space above the main living area sleeps two more on two twin beds.
We will provide you with all bed linens for the beds, as well as kitchen and bath towels.
Just off the main living area you will find a large screened-in sun room, offering additional seating space. The deck is equipped with a propane BBQ, sink (drains only, no running water), and a table and chairs to seat six.
Fagan Lake is a private lake with only a few cottages and no public access points. We ask that you please respect the other patrons of the lake. Noise travels well here so we ask that you be mindful of noise before 8 am and after 11 pm. Kindly clean up any garbage around the dock as to not pollute the water.
**PLEASE NOTE** As we are in a very rural spot, there is no garbage collection service at our cottage. Guests are required to take all waste at the end of your stay. You may be charged an additional fee for failure to remove all waste.
