We arrived a little late, having spent a bit too much time in Exeter, so our super cream tea was not enjoyed until the following day. This lovely gesture was typical of the welcoming attitude of Sally and Christopher. Truly nothing was too much trouble, even when we managed to muck up the TV stations! Our Labrador enjoyed running in the large enclosed field and swimming in a river not too far away. Nearby Tavistock is well worth a visit with everything from Supermarkets to a market complete with small individual shops. Our holiday flew past, we would certainly recommend this cosy excellently equipped cottage and hope to return.

Wonderfully quiet break right on the western edge of Dartmoor.
Wonderfully quiet break right on the western edge of Dartmoor. Situated on a traffic free back lane literally tucked into a hillside. You won't get mobile reception but the wi-fi is good. Probably the best equipped kitchen I've experienced in the last couple of years. Excellent walks nearby. Recommend a walk at twilight just to see the bats whizzing past you in a black blur.

Absolutely charming little cottage, located right on the edge of the moors.
Absolutely charming little cottage, located right on the edge of the moors. It is small, but just perfect for a couple and a dog. The little village of North Brentor is nice - but no pub or shop. For that you must go over to Lydford - where The Castle pub is everything anyone would want (and right next to National Trust's Lydford gorge). The other pubs nearby in Peter Tavy etc are equally good. Fantastic walks all around the area. The market town of Tavistock - a few miles away - is lovely as well. Sally, the owner is very friendly and helpful. After a week there, it is hard to resist not upping sticks and moving to Devon!
