The old palace is nearby and the beach of Ilha de Tavira is within a short boat ride. The nearest beach is Barrill in Santa Lucia, opposite Pedras del Rei, centrally located in the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve park.
The garden is on 2 levels with lawns and an array of flowers, almond, carob and olive trees. Pick your own fruit from the orchard including oranges, lemons, peaches, pomegranates and more depending on the time of year of your stay.
You are spoiled for choice in Tavira and Santa Luzia with ample restaurants and bars, whilst maintaining a quaint non commercial feel. On the beach at Barrill you'll find a self service restaurant, hamburger house, pizzeria/creperia, bar, boutique and handicraft shop. Other places to visit include the town of Faro if you want to browse the shops or local restaurants and bars or sit and watch the yachts on the marina.

Sto Estavao is a small village with a quaint little church, a bar, a restaurant, pharmacy and supermarkets. It's very laid back and has several local festivals throughout the year. Surrounded by orange groves it is quiet and peaceful spoilt only by the sound of the crickets and many birds that frequent the countryside. We also have our own resident rabbits.
