Staying in the deluxe room with the jacuzzi on the patio was a must. It’s a short walk to town although the restaurant food quality was a bit disappointing and restaurants were empty due to the season. We didn’t dine at hotel. However we capped off each night with a drink in the hotel’s fabulous rooftop bar. The hotel was almost empty so it was surprising we had to wait for our room( we arrived early) but they kept saying not ready when when we finally came back at the specified check in time there was a lineup and then we had to wait even longer. However the gentleman at check in was helpful when we were trying to get a package delivered.

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon in Portugal and we were so happy with our stay at Maria Nova Lounge. They offered us a complimentary upgrade which was very much appreciated! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the shower - there was no way to close the door and water got everywhere. I also didn’t like that there was a 2 in one (body wash, shampoo) for the shower. It would’ve been nice to have two separate. The food was fine but we especially liked the set menu on the rooftop! Definitely recommend doing that if you have the half board rather than the buffet for dinner. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely be back!

Perfectly located the property has a boutique touch although it is looking like gigantic Hotel on photos and in reality. Everything was fine apart from one waiter at the breakfast that was a bit rude but this didn't downplay our beautiful stay in Tavira 3 days

Upon arrival, I was warmly and promptly greeted. When I went to my room, there was a moldy odor. I went back to the front desk to express my concern, and they moved me to another room. Other than that, the day was pleasant and I appreciated the complementary bottle of wine. The property is quiet with a beautiful view of the town. The buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful with a lovely touch of a pianist playing throughout the meal. The rooftop bar was a pleasure with delicious food and drink. I especially appreciated the warm welcome by Jonathan.

This is a great place with a somewhat walkable location. Reaching the downtown area with its restaurants and shops involves a small hill, but we didn’t mind the bit of exercise. If you're looking for a place to stay without the noise of children, this hotel is an excellent choice. The rooftop bar is spacious, beautifully designed, and offers a stunning view of the city.

I’ve stayed at the hotel many times and always enjoy the facilities. The staff are friendly and attentive to your needs. There is building work going on nearby and lots of drilling , construction and large vehicles passing through. Laying by the pool and sitting on your balcony wasn’t as relaxing as usual !

I just hope, whoever designed the bathrooms is sitting in jail. I just can't understand it. Impossible to get in or keep water from shooting all over floor. The room was small but, that is not a big issue

Moldy room triggered my wife's allergy
The room we were first assigned had a terrible smell of mold. My wife is allergic and it immediately triggered her allergy so she had a hard time breathing. The bathroom was dark with mold, and the room also looked very worn and in bad shape. After some discussion, we were offered another room, exactly the same size, but overlooking the pool, for a 20€ upgrade fee. This room did not have a mold issue, and the rest of the stay was ok. Service was friendly, but this is not what we expected...

They do not have iron available in the rooms or even in a laundry room as it's a "security issue". Staff were dismissive and unhelpful. You have to pay £10 deposit per pool towel. Breakfast ok. Coffee tasted like mud
