"This is right in the heart of Varenna. The apartment is quaint and comfortable. I would recommend a 2nd floor unit if you want more day light though. The only feed back on the apartment I would suggest is a new couch."

"The place was great. On point to the review online everything in place, clean, lots of free space for big families. Quiet and beautiful view. Amazing owners that helped us a lot in every way we needed. The only downside I think about is the mattress being quite old, older folks with back problems we had a hard time to sleep and wake up. Overall a great place. "

"This apartment was in a wonderful location near the water, restaurants and food shopping. Plenty of parking and convenient to the apartment. The apartment had everything you’d need for cooking, laundry and restful spaces. There was a cute porch with a view of a small chapel, a castle and the lake if you stood close to the railing. This location was so beautiful and restful. A great getaway for a couple!"

"Instructions for check in were detailed and we had no problems. We were able to find a parking spot in the garage but be warned there are only a few and it's first come first serve. The view from the apartment is breathtaking. The location is in Fiumelatte, a 20-ish minute walk to Varenna which we were happy to do every day. The apartment amenities are basic but fine and comfortable and clean. My only real complaint is there was no Wifi network as advertised. And I did not hear back when I...

"Directions to the unit were clear, we found the property easily. The 3 km road leading to it from the main road is incredibly narrow most of the time but even with traffic it is doable. We had everything we needed for our stay, kitchen items, washer, dishwasher. Our host even provided a welcome gift of pasta and tomato sauce and a bottle of wine. Wifi was good. Communication with the host was excellent. I can highly recommend this place to anyone."

"We loved the location and the apartment. Only a couple of problems: the shower door was broken, and the bedroom closet smelled a little because there was a stained pillow in there. We still would recommend."

"Ours was a short but very sweet stay at Porta Rossa. We had to make last minute plans and fell into this gem! We want to come back again and will plan it when this place is available. Walking distance to train and all the shopping and boat trips you could ever imagine in the region.The views of the Lake Como were spectacular. Book this place whenever you can."
