"We were a late check in 10 pm. Called at 7pm to let them know and no issue. There is a buzzer for to call them when closed. The owner was right down and got me checked in under 5 minutes. This is an old hotel, but they have but time and care into fixing up the rooms. Really good attention from the owner. Pleasant surprise. "

"My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!"

"What a wonderful view! Our kids loved the little beach area and how shallow and sandy it was in front of the house! It was quiet and comfortable. Its not fancy or rustic, it hits just right for a comfortable family gathering for fishing, swimming games. Would love to come back again someday!"
