We stayed for 3 weeks in this spacious apartment located in a charming neighborhood of craftsman style bungalows. There are three waterfront parks along the Hillsborough River, starting just a block away, providing a delightful loop for walking.
The apartment is well-furnished with everything you need. The second-floor screened-in porch was a favorite spot for us, with the pleasant sound of the fountain in the front yard. The house sits on 3 lots, so provides a quiet nicely landscaped retreat for relaxation.
We did day trips to the Gulf Beaches (Indian Rocks Beach), Fort deSoto, the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, the Ybor Historic District, the Tampa Bay History Museum and the riverwalk. Since the Songbird Villa isn't too far from I-275, such day trips were easy.
Christi & Stuart were very helpful with suggestions and information.
The only downside is that Nebraska Avenue (the closest main street) has seen better days and doesn't have any restaurants, stores or shops of interest. You have to drive several miles to get to places to eat or shop.
This is a hidden gem. Don't hesitate to book it!
