Not great communication
Overall it was fine, however the check in process was not great. I got in contact with the host a couple weeks before my trip and they let me know that they would send check in instructions closer to our check in date. However it was getting closer and closer to the date and I had reached out and received no answer. It came to the point where it was our check in date and I still hadn’t heard anything back when I would reach out. Then it had been an hour past our check in time and we had still not heard back so we had to go through customer service to get in contact with the host directly. After we called the host, they finally sent over the check in instructions. All was good after that except for the pool. It was extremely dirty even having red solo cups still in it. The host had explained that it was because of a storm the previous few days and that a pool cleaner would be coming the next day. This was all good because there had been a storm beforehand so it was understandable. However after the pool cleaners had come, there wasn’t much of a difference, there was still leaves, sticks and sludge floating and at the bottoms of the pool. A big part of why we chose this house was because of the pool, however we didn’t even end up utilizing it at all because it was still so dirty. The house itself was fine, but those experiences were quite big instances that really swayed our overall enjoyment of our trip.
