the Stone Hut

The Stone Hut is a two story cabin ( 800 square feet) with a queen bedroom downstairs and two queen bedrooms upstairs.
Bedroom 1 (Granite Room) UPSTAIRS is spacious with a queen bed and sitting area in front of the windows with a coffee pot, hot water decanter, toaster, tea and coffee. It is connected via pocket door to the second bedroom (Northridge) which has a queen bed, large window and separate entry. Great views of the Alaska Range from all the rooms. These two bedrooms share one bathroom.
The DOWNSTAIRS room is the Boulder Room and is located off the sitting room. It has a queen bed and opening window. The Boulder Room is connected to the sitting room via pocket door. The sitting room has large windows, an opening door, and views of the Alaska Range. There is one small bathroom and shower on the first floor. The kitchenette has a small refrigerator, two burner stovetop, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and pots and pans. The Granite Room upstairs is accessed by spiral stairs or a separate entrance from the outside. The
The Stone Hut was custom built by the owner, with stone accents both outside and in. The Stone Hut is located on a large property with landscaped lawns and large boulders. The Stone Hut has a access to the deck, as well as a separate area on the lawn with a picnic table and chairs.

Wonderful home for family trip

Pleasantly surprised!
This was such a nice surprise! We all loved the quaintness and home feeling of this house. I am always skeptical about staying in any property be it a hotel or a rental property because I am very particular about cleanliness. This property is very clean. It’s great for a short getaways. Would love to rent all homes on this property for a family reunion. Unfortunately I have physical challenges and going upstairs with a spiral staircase was not easy and ended up to be a one time experience. Happy there was the bedroom downstairs. Great property. Would stay here again.

We arrived to find everything just how I was told. Very cozy and uniquely built cabin. Was a nice base for visiting Talkeetna and one of Mahay's tours. Would definitely return if in the area!

We stayed in the Stone Hut which was very nice for a short stay . Looking at the Mountain House would have been more suited seeing how we had food with us . But would recommend for anyone looking to stay in Talkeetna. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The Layton’s

Shower had black hair on shower wall. Kitchen was worst equipped I have ever stayed in. Picture was not of the house we stayed in. Had to borrow the neighbors grill. Place was overgrown with weeds

You can’t go wrong with this property!
Absolutely perfect. Great views of Denali. The correspondence with the owner was superb. They were easy to work with and responded quickly. They helped us select the property that was best suited for our group. The house is unique and gives you a great Alaskan mountain feel. The decor is fascinating with all types of climbing and outdoor equipment used throughout the house. The kitchen was well stocked and grill was perfect for cooking Moose burgers and steaks. We enjoyed dinner out on the deck with a beautiful view of Denali. The beds were comfy and rooms were nice sized. Good quality towels and linens along with all of the products needed for showers. We will definitely stay here again.

Interesting home with great views
Just a short, one night stay on our way to Denali but it was a good one. One of our party has mobility challenges so used the downstairs bedroom is a little snug but still comfy. A spiral staircase led to the second floor and an expansive suite. I wish we would have had a little more time to explore the grounds.

Amazing spot in the woods
We loved the Stone Hut! I was traveling with my mother, aunt and sister it was perfect for us four girls for an overnight on our way to Denali. The property is lovely and the location is not far from Talkeetna at all. We will stay here again next time we come to Alaska!

No oven or a real frig, just motel sized. But for the foo-foo set who are impressed by the fancy sinks and countertops it a nice place. Comfortable beds and couch, etc.

Strange configuration
This unit had a strange configuration which wasn't clear from the photos. The kitchen area is very small and only a tiny fridge. Bathrooms are tiny too. The one Q bed downstairs is boxed in with only one side open to get in. Great for kids bot not mature adults. There is a nice parlor adjacent. The bathroom sink/vanity are part of the kitchen. Only the tub and shower are separate. Very tight space. Upstairs (spiral stair) is another Q bed and small bath with shower. Up two stairs behind that room is another Q bed which is boxed in on two sides. Only a pocket door separates the two beds. There is ouside stairs to the upstairs if you dont like the spiral staircase. The next unit over shares a deck and it eliminated privacy. They are too close together! As big as this property is, they could have spaced them out better. Glad we only stayed 2 nights. It is nicely furnished but was missing many convenieces.

Unique place perfect for our family
We really enjoyed this place with its nooks and crannies and unique craftsmanship. Two of the bedrooms are small but the main upstairs bedroom is very spacious and all the beds were comfortable. Alas, it was cloudy and foggy while we were there but looks like the views would be fantastic. Would definitely stay again.

This property was very quaint, with the most amazing view from the back deck. It was clean and neat with the basic amenities and worked well for our needs since we were out exploring most of the day. The layout was a bit crowded, I would have liked a bit more space to store my belongings. But the view made up for the lack of space.
