This hotel is not new, but it is clean and staffs are very nice. Train/bus stations are just cross the street. Near shopping center and many restaurants.

very nice hotel overall!! the staff were really helpful and sweet. there are quite a lot of choices for the breakfast as well. the only thing is that the amenities (shower head, tv, etc) are a little older but it's honestly not a big deal, they work pretty well!

Hotel was very run down and extremely noisy. It was reasonably clean. Unfortunately tour groups in hotel thought it was ok to leave the room doors open and all socialise right outside our door , which meant we got very little sleep as were very loud. Staff were lovely and hotel position was excellent.

"Disappointing Stay: Poor Maintenance and Rundown
The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and adjacent to a shopping mall. However, it is in desperate need of maintenance as the condition is extremely rundown. The water cooler was so dirty that I didn’t feel comfortable refilling my water bottle. The fridge in the room was rusty, the bed was sunken, and there was no holder for the toilet roll. The shower curtain was makeshift, hanging on a rusty rod. The internet connection was painfully slow, and the presence of a different name on the signage made it feel like it’s no longer TwinStar Hotel. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with my stay.

This is a very old property. The lift is small and old. The bath room is very small and the toilet is right in the front of the door. The WiFi is terrible, especially for iPhone (no signal at all). the location is convenient, but I will not recommend this hotel.

Centrally Located in Taichung
Location, Location, Location! Not the newest, fanciest or nicest of hotels but definitely the most convenient! Right next door to Taroko Mall which has everything - food court, Carrefour (kind of like Walmart but nicer), McDs, Starbucks, Daiso, movie theaters, lots of boutique shopping, etc. Also right across the street from Taichung Train Station. Numerous bus stops all around. All of the hotel staff were so nice, friendly and helpful. We were given breakfast buffet tickets for each morning of our stay and there was something for everyone to enjoy. The room decor and furniture were tired and dated but the bathroom and linens were clean.

Centrally located. 5 mins walk to the railway station and local bus station. Beds are firm but not rock hard like some Taiwan hotels. Breakfast is good. Has standard noodles and porridge. Toast is also available. Sopping centre next door with a Carrefour supermarket. Staff are courteous.

Excellent location, just accross Taichung Station. Next to Taroko Mall, very convenient. And also about 8 minutes walk to Lalaport Mall. Room needs upgrade. Breakfast just ok, very little menu changes during 4 night of stay. AC very weak, maybe too old. So they gave us electric fan to use in the room, LOL.

the hotel is near the new taichung railway station, and just beside the taroko shopping mall. lots of food options and bubble tea shops around. we stayed in a triple room, there was limited space for 3 cabin size luggages to be opened up fully in the room. there is not enough soundproofing as we can hear opposite room traveller's chatting and children crying around. breakfast is not bad.

It is located in the back of train station, next to a nice shopping mall, and Within 5 minutes walk to the new LaLaPort mall. Neighborhood seems safe. Staff are friendly. Room has heavy cigarets smell. Staff try to get rid of the smell but in vain. Shower is not separate from the toilet.

Align expectations despite the reasonable price.
Should be a good hotel in the past especially in 1980s as facilities were from those days without upgrading. Cleanliness is ok but need to align expectation on the facilities conditions, for instance the hardness of mattress, the lightings, and the old furniture and furnishings. Young staffs assigned to serve hotel guests at level one are very polite. Need to align expectation on the dishes served during breakfast, especially on the consistency and types of breakfast.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. However the room is .... esp the toilets !! Superrrrr cramppp and small. You do not have proper space to walk. You open the door, and the door is almost touching the toilet bowl already. If you are fat, you cant enter the toilet at all. There also seems to have mosquitoes in the room, got bitten in middle of night.

The facilties are old and run down. Did not have a chair in my room. Does not use key cards. No safe storage in room. No cable tv and no English language tv stations available. No washes or dryers. Does not send out laundry. Have to walk down the street and do it yourself at laundramat.
