Words, and to an extent pictures, can't convey how beautiful this home truly is. If you appreciate good design and fine touches, this is the perfect retreat for bringing loved ones together.
The open floor plan is perfect for bringing everyone together for meals. The kitchen with its Viking range is a foodies playground. I thoroughly enjoyed making pancakes, bacon, and eggs on the griddle.
The decor really added to the ambience of being somewhere in the woods, yet home away from home. The fireplace(s) were perfect for keeping us toasty during the snowy stay. All of the amenities and made this place the equivalent of a luxury 5 star hotel suite.
Best of all, the home has toys to entertain three toddlers for the entire stay. Even a playhouse with slide inside!
David, the owner, also spend almost a whole day shoveling snow/ice out of the driveway when we were stuck.
One might complain about the lack of an up-to-date entertainment system (no blue-ray, HD big screen). But if you want a real retreat and some quality time with people, I can see the reasoning for staying low tech. Although he does have wifi.
The only real complaint I have is in how slippery that top stair to the loft is. Even though he warned us multiple times in person and in writing, I still managed to slip not once, but twice, even while holding the handrail. So seriously heed the words of caution.
Despite that, I look forward to a time in the future when I can return for another stay.
