On the downstairs level is a full-sized bathroom, a laundry room and four private rooms (two legal bedrooms with closets, two additional private rooms with beds). There is also a loft area upstairs that can be used as additional sleeping accommodations.

The loft area above the living room is quite spacious and has gorgeous views of the lake. Please use caution with young children in the loft, where you will find a full bath and a single day bed separated by a closet area from a queen-size (Beauty-Sleep hotel quality mattress) bed. We often receive comments from guests about how nice it is waking up in the loft and looking out on the beautiful lake!

The house is located 2.5 miles south of charming Tahoe City and five miles north of Homewood ski area. Other ski resorts, including Palisades and Alpine Meadows are an easy drive. Two miles away is family-friendly Granlibakken which not only has skiing, but also sledding, and a ropes course.
The house comes with passes to the private, gated Lake Tahoe Park Beach Association which offers three acres of amenities including piers, playground equipment, lakeside picnic tables with BBQs and 750 feet of homeowner's-access-only beachfront. This is arguable the nicest beach association in Lake Tahoe and is just a short five minute drive from the house!
One mile up the street, you'll find the trailhead to Paige Meadows. Here, depending on the season, world-class hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing lie at your feet. A paved bike path right down the street leads to Tahoe City--for a leisurely bike ride through the pines. Back at the house, enjoy a BBQ on the deck.
Sunnyside restaurant, Firesign Cafe, West Shore Market, Spoons, and West Shore Sports (a paddle-board and bike rental shop) are part of the neighborhood charm. The central location of the house makes it easy to enjoy everything Tahoe has to offer, without an electrical wire or more than one neighbor to spoil the view!
There is a parking deck that holds two cars. Due to weight and street safety concerns, only two cars may be parked on the parking deck. During the summer months, you can park just off the street in a turn-out right by the driveway. During the winter months, there is no street parking due to snow plow operations, so you’ll need to plan your car situation carefully.
Our housekeepers are paid a living wage. As such, you can enjoy a clean house knowing that no one was taken advantage of to get it that way. The house is set up with linens on all the beds, ample towels, soap and toilet paper in the bathrooms, and towels, dishwasher soap, trash bags and paper towels in the kitchen.

The road going up to the house is steep. The region is accustomed to dealing with snow, and the road is plowed on a regular basis. That said, it can be slippery and the schedule for clearing the road is not under our control. Carry chains, water, and monitor road conditions for your trip.
The driveway is on a seasonal plow service, whereas they come once per day when it snows more than 5 inches. They generally follow the road plows and will first clear the berms at the end of the driveway. You’ll need to move your cars so that the plows can access and clear the driveway (which takes less than 5 minutes once cars are out of the way).
There are steps that lead down from the parking pad to the front entry door. During winter storms, the stairs can pile with snow and will need to be shoveled in order to be maintained. We do our best to ensure reasonable access to the property, but depending on the timing of your arrival (if during or immediately following a storm), the stairs may need to be shoveled. There are shovels located beneath the side overhang that can be used by guests.
