LOCATION: This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is in the quiet hillside neighborhood of Talmont estates in Tahoe City, about a mile above the lake at elevation 6900'. From this West Shore location, it's easy to get out and explore the beautiful scenery, outdoor activities and landmarks that make Lake Tahoe famous. The house is just one block away from a trail system that leads to Page Meadows, which eventually to the Tahoe Rim Trail and Pacific Crest Trail. This trail system is great for hiking and biking in the summer, or snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the winter.
THE HOME:
This open-concept, comfortable vacation home with sauna and hot tub. It has quick access to year-round activities makes it a good choice for a relaxing stay.
Downstairs: Bear Cub Cabin has a reverse floor plan.
Entering the cabin downstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, a tub/shower bathroom, a. laundry room and a sauna.
All bedrooms feature quality bedding and large flat screen TVs.

3. Two twin XL’s that can be pushed together to make a cal king mattress.
An adjacent hallway leads to the Viking Sauna downstairs.
Upstairs: Heading upstairs, the open great room provides a comfortable place to relax, with a round glass wood burning fireplace right in the center of it all. The living room sofas, sectional and swivel chairs are all down-filled comfy and plush, all Restoration Hardware furnishings. Enjoy a 75" Smart TV for movie night, a fully equipped kitchen, a 6-seat dining area, plus 2 barstools at the kitchen island.
The upstairs bathroom includes a shower.
The Deck: The great room leads to a sunny south-facing deck with tree-filtered distant lake views, a Marquis hot tub, an electric BBQ grill, and patio seating. The patio seating includes a padded conversation set in the summer, or 6 resin Adirondack chairs in the winter.
Starter supplies provided: paper towels, TP, dish and dishwasher soap, hand soaps, shower get, shampoo and conditioner, laundry detergent, starter supply of firewood during the cold months.
WINTER NOTICE: To ensure a safe and enjoyable stay, we kindly ask guests to help keep the walkway clear of snow when needed. While we arrange for snow removal, snowfall can accumulate between services. A shovel is provided for your use. Thank you for your help in keeping the path safe!
NEARBY ACTIVITIES: Activities that make Tahoe so popular are skiing and snowboarding, fishing, bike riding, boating, swimming, paddle boarding, river rafting and hiking, all within a short distance from the cabin.. Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Ski Resorts are about a 15 minute drive from the cabin. Plenty of restaurants and shopping are nearby. 3 incredible State Parks including Sugar Pine Point, DL Bliss and Emerald Bay are a short drive away. For gaming, the nearest casinos are Crystal Bay about 15 minutes away, Incline Village about half an hour, or, South Shore and Reno about an hour away.

The LTPA is about one mile downhill from the home. 6 beach chairs and 6 beach towels are supplied at the cabin seasonally for guest use. This property has a large lot with an area set up for playing horseshoes or corn hole. Enjoy the Viking Sauna and the Marquis hot tub year round!

Placer County has implemented a short term rental ordinance. Guests must agree to read and comply with Placer County's Good Neighbor Rules before booking Bear Cub Cabin. Non-compliance could result in fines being issued by Placer County ranging from $1500 to $5,000, and possible eviction. Some highlights include:
1. Quiet Hours are from 9pm to 8am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sounds are allowed.
2. Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside the property and all pet waste must be picked up.
3. Parking is limited to onsite parking only in the driveway, which has space for 2 vehicles only. Street parking is prohibited year-round, and cars parked on the street may be ticketed or towed.
4. Occupancy is limited to 6 people maximum. Parties and events are not allowed.
5. The use of any outdoor fire pit or fireplace is strictly prohibited. An electric grill is provided on the upstairs deck with fire safety in mind.
6. Quiet hours are between 9pm and 8am. Noise must not leave the property lines during this time, Hot tub use is prohibited during these hours. Amplified music is not allowed.
7. Anything that is disruptive to the peace of this residential neighborhood is prohibited.
Please note that the Placer County short term rental ordinance includes fines and violations for non-compliance.
ACCESS: A 12% grade hill must be climbed to access this property. Snow chains or 4wd vehicles with snow tires are required in the winter to access. This home has many stairs and not recommended for those with mobility issues. The driveway, walkway and stairs are often slippery.
CANCELLATION: Cancellation refunds are given in accordance with the VRBO cancellation policy in effect upon booking this property.
INSURANCE RECOMMENDED: Tahoe is a great place to visit, but occasionally can be affected by extreme events. While we never want issues like icy roads, inclement weather, road closures, wildfire smoke, illness, pandemic upticks, etc. to negatively impact our guests, it may happen.
When booking Bear Cub Cabin, optional trip insurance is highly recommended. VRBO offers Cancellation Protection through Global Generali: You may be reimbursed for covered non-refundable trip costs if you have to cancel because of illness, injury, theft of visa or passport, or involuntary loss of employment. We also recommend travelers consider "Cancel For Any Reason" travel insurance (offered by private companies) if you want cancellation refunds anytime for any reason at all.
WINTER DRIVING SAFETY: This home is accessed by a steep 12% grade hill. Guests are advised to carry chains in the winter or have 4WD vehicles with snow tires. Mountain conditions are often icy and dangerous, so plan accordingly with properly-fitted chains and wear safe lug soled shoes to prevent slips and falls.

BEAR SAFETY: Visitors are traveling to bear country, so never leave any food or trash in your vehicle to prevent bear break-ins. This home is protected with bear wires for your safety. Always secure trash in the locked bear garbage bin on the side of the driveway, and never leave any food or excess trash outside the locked bear garbage bin
CHILD SAFETY: Please note that this home is not child-proof or child safe, and children should be supervised at all times.
SECURITY: Electric bear wires have been installed on the exterior of the downstairs doors and windows to prevent bear break-ins. It is not recommended for anyone wearing a pacemaker to rent this property with the bear security device. 3 security cameras are located on the exterior only to monitor the home: one cameras is located above the garage facing the driveway, and 2 are adjacent cameras are on the side of the cabin covering the left side of the cabin.
RENTAL AGREEMENT: If interested in renting this property our rental agreement must be downloaded and carefully reviewed before booking this property. It is located right under the RULES section you must read and agree to. As soon as the initial payment is made to book this property, the rental contract is in effect.
