This apartment is located on the top floor and features a kitchen, living room, bathroom, two bedrooms and large dining area on a covered balcony. Also has its own large roof terrace with a connecting third bedroom. From the rooftop terrace you have views of the most; the sea, the beach and the life of the main street and the square. From here you can also see the mountain, and perhaps see the goats who climb the trees. And not least; may you experience sunrise and sunset in stunning colors.
In the charming fishing village of Taghazout, you will have the opportunity to get close to the Moroccan culture and peaceful way of life. The house is in true traditional Riad style, and is only one of the few traditional family homes remaining in the area. In the renovation we spent a lot of time and added soul to the details with typical Moroccan materials, such as handmade mosaic tiles. The conversion blends beautiful detail between the new, the re-used, but nothing being random.
It is here that we have an inviting holiday home to share! We bought this property in the spring of 2013 and through five years of labor of love, we have spent all our holidays building and renovating this fantasitc building. It has become a place we - a Norwegian-Moroccan couple, who met in Tagazout in the summer of 2011 - are proud to present to our guests.
The house is centrally located in the small town, with access to everything you need nearby. The nearest sandy beach is three minutes walk away, the dining areas are close by, both on the main street and along the shoreline. Food stores, pharmacy and laundry are on the same street.
Taghazout, the place that became popular with the hippies by the 60s, is today a charming resort for those seeking an authentic and different experience.
You can drink your morning coffee while you follow the shimmering fishing boats that leave the harbor - and enjoy walks along the beach while the fishermen return with their catch. You will hear the sound of the mosque - and perhaps discover that the cobbler stays closed during the prayer period on Friday. If you want, you can eat local food for a cheap price in the nearest corner or raise the standard a crumb at "Dar Josephine" a little further afield.
Taghazout is the first destination for surfers in Morocco and one of the world's top surfing locations, and offers for everyone from experienced wave riders to those putting their legs on a board for the first time. Several known surf spots, such as Anchor Point, are not far away.
Don't despair if you prefer sun loungers and a leisurely beach life. The number of sunny days a year is 360, the beaches are welcoming and the sea water wonderful.
The area around Taghazout also offers other activities:
Paradise Valley is already the most famous hike in the area. It is widely popular for its canyons, cascades and swimming holes, and most travelers concentrate their outdoor activities around this valley.
Bicycles are available for rent in Tamraght (neighboring village 10 minutes driving away) and Agadir (about 30 minutes driving away). Travelers may rent bikes to discover the villages around or take an organized bike trip. The place holds many surprises for biking lovers.
Yoga is often included in the packages of surf camps, and most of the classes are also open to all other guests. Lessons usually take place after sunrise and before sunset.
A new golf course with a view of the ocean and the mountains (18-hole course) is established by The Golf Academy Taghazout, one of three sports academies that are part of the Taghazout Bay project. This is located within walking distance of Taghazout village.
Taghazout is exciting and exotic, at the same time safe and family-friendly - only a short flight away from Europe, eg less than four hours flight away from London Stansted and less than five hours flight away from Oslo Gardermoen.
Here you will get everything you want from a Morocco stay.
