"Some pretty black and gray cats live in the area. They will not approach you if you don't call them over. Also, they do not fight with each other or make any noise. Some people feed them and pet them. I was one of those fortunate folks. That was the best part of it for me!"

"This is a lovely home in a very nice neighborhood. It is close to great dining and shopping. The pool and waterfall are beautiful. We especially enjoyed the hot tub during the cold winter evenings. The master bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again."

Good jumping off point for Carrizo Plain National Monument but otherwise an ugly oil town with not much going for it.

It is a quiet little town. Everyone I met was very friendly. After the long drive to Taft, I went for a 30 minute walk close to sunset and felt safe walking streets.
