"Looks recently refreshed on the exterior, very nice. Interior was re done perhaps a few years ago. They did a great job on the shower! Slept well but the pillows were too thin & only two of them for a king bed."

Good jumping off point for Carrizo Plain National Monument but otherwise an ugly oil town with not much going for it.

It is a quiet little town. Everyone I met was very friendly. After the long drive to Taft, I went for a 30 minute walk close to sunset and felt safe walking streets.
