Charming and convenient
We loved the porch and patio. Rarely stayed inside because the location and yard were perfect. Easy walk to many restaurants and shops. Great for 3 women in our 50s-60s to catch up relax and explore the area. The stairs to the house and stairs in the house were alot after a day of walking, but id do it again anyways!! Great hosts, well equipped home and comfortable.

Lovely, well appointed vacation rental, waling distance to all Dillsboro has to offer.
The Reed House is perfect for those wishing to park and stay to visit Dillsboro. It, however has limitations for those who are physically challenged by age or condition. To walk to the town, you must walk to steps across from the post office and cross Haywood, which is a very busy street. When arriving you must park well overhead of the Reed House and walk down several steep stairs to get to the back yard to unload, and then uphill to get loaded again when leaving.. I'm 77 with good legs but bad back, so it was a challenge as I'm a solo travel, but I made it. The home is precious and well appointed. Another challenge is that both bedrooms are upstairs once you enter the home. But if you are not physically challenged, it's the perfect spot to see and enjoy Dillsboro.

Perfect location to walk around town. We were limited on indoor living space as there were four humans and three dogs staying but there was plenty of space in the fully fenced yard for us to lounge around. The beds were comfortable and home was will equip for the fur babies. Note to anyone staying here: if there is dew or if the ground is wet at all, walk down the steps to the house slowly and use the hand rail. We had a slip and fall resulting in a sprained ankle.

We stayed at the Reed House while doing all our last details for my daughters wedding at Parker Mill in July. It was perfect! We had lots of scheduled meetings in town and it was so nice and convenient to be right in town! We just wish we’d had more time to just sit and enjoy the views!

Charming old house in the heart of Dillsboro.
The house itself is cute as can be. It is a really old house so the stairs are narrow and there is some creaking. It was clean and well stocked with linens and other things. The rooms are small like the olden days but plenty of room for a family. My dogs loved the fenced in yard so did I. They even left me some Valentine’s candy. The only thing I did not care for was the very loud freeway in front of the house. I do not know why the administrators of this town are not enforcing the 20 mph speed limit with speed humps or other. The traffic on this road was the worse thing about the trip. Overall I had a great time and loved the Reed House.

perfect location
we will definitely stay at the REED house again. 1.) the LOCATION was exceptional. No need for a car in Dillsboro and a sweet town to walk around, have a bite, a drink. Very safe. A hop-skip-jump to sylva (2-3 min drive) whick is a great shopping town .2.) very clean 3.) the beds were SUPER comfortable 4.) The REEDS decorated (super kitch) for Christmas inside and out making it so fun an d5.) LOCATION LOCATION. One needs to note that this is an original little farmhouse in the mountains and as such you should expect the quirkiness of a place like this. Tiny staircase and lower ceilings upstairs; slant to the floors. So, if your handicapped in any way this is really not the place for you; many stairs to walk down to get into the house. BUT if you do not have any difficulties...by all means, this is a darling cottage mountain get away! We will definitly be back. We were there for lights and luminaries ; very quaint and old school atmosphere. Loved it!

Cozy Home!
Great stay. Convenient to downtown Dillsboro shopping and restaurants. Also, convenient to Sylva, Bryson City, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, etc. There are steps down to the house they were not bad at all. Reed House was decorated for fall, very cute. Would definitely stay again. Keep in mind this house is 115 years old. It is modern and up to date, however, the stairway upstairs is narrow and steep. My sisters and I enjoyed our stay.

Great location clean property
Everything was there and a great location. Just FYI the grill is not gas like the listing says it’s charcoal. Only down side to the place is the 2 recliners in the living room are totally worn out and so uncomfortable there was 2 open days after our check out date that we going to call and stay but the recliners so horrible we went to another cabin.

Thank y’all for sharing your cute home with us! We had a wonderful weekend getaway! It had everything we needed. Thanks for the Easter touch and we got to enjoy the parade too! Bed was great! Linens and towels were clean and crisp. We enjoyed sitting on the front and back porch. We enjoyed restaurants like Boots Steakhouse (reservations recommended) and Foragers Canteen. Fall Vacation
My husband and I had a great time staying at this historical location. We were happy to see it had a king size bad and it was comfortable. The town of Dillsboro has a lot of shops with local artists work displayed in them. The restaurants were good too. I was worried about the construction of the bridge but it wasn’t a problem to follow the detour and find everything. Last year we stayed at a cabin that required a car ride into the town and nearest grocery but this quaint town has everything you need in walking distance. I highly recommend it if you plan on seeing the blue ridge parkway or the Smokey Mountains park. It is close to so many things and is away from the hustle and bustle of busier areas in the fall. We definitely look forward to staying again for sure.

Lovely little house
Wonderful home with all the amenities in a quiet little town. away from the bustle but close enough to the Great Smoky Montaina National Park which was our destination. Very clean and had comfortable beds. Nice front porch to sit out on with a cup of coffee in the morning and back deck for dinner at night. Great food at the local resturants. Owners were very responsive. VACASA who we rented through were not responsive at all.
