Sterling Manor Katoomba

Sterling Manor the perfect couples’ retreat or family getaway. An enchanting 1950’s period home, with a 50yr history. Formerly the home of the famous Astrologer Richard Sterling the décor is a mix of eclectic and French provincial with it’s original cream flower motive Axminster carpet and 1970’s character filled, mirrored bedroom wall with crystal chandelier.
The ground floor apartment of a two storey house with 180°degree uninterrupted OMG views of the Jamison Valley.

The deck offers the perfect viewing platform. Enjoy a BBQ and a glass of champagne to celebrate life!

The dining room is a great spot to sit and read whilst watching the colours of the escarpment change, cockatoos flying by and the kitchen also has views.

A Sanctuary of Peace

This is truly a unique property to experience. It offers so much more than most, with a relaxing, healing vibe that is so rejuvenating. You are encouraged to sit for a while. There are peaceful areas in the gardens below. The Meditation Gazebo, or further down in the Aquarius section either tables and benches.
Home to 8 variety of colourful birds. It's a delight to bird watch... Crimson Rozellas, Red/Green King Parrots, Yellow breasted Robins, Finches, Cockatoos & Lyrebirds.

Our studio guests share the far left side of the courtyard in their dedicated Aries section. Just say hi to guests as you would in a hotel or guest house so everyone feels comfortable.

A comfortable sofabed is located here and can be converted as a bed for an extra guest.

Small original 1950's Australian retro style bathroom with shower over the bath, heated in winter.

Renovated in April 2024. Fully equipped including staple pantry items, oil, spices, Condiments.

Your nightly tariff is inclusive of 2 guests thereafter each additional guest is $70/ person per night.

For the benefit of all guests staying at the house, there is a 10pm curfew where we ask that you lower your voices.

**Only paid guests are permitted to be on this property to keep the noise down. Please do not invite your friends and definitely no loud parties are allowed.

Would be handy to know the property is 3 units under the main roof , and you share the rear yard with the amazing views with other guests as well as sharing the driveway and metered parking if you park on the street

The best!!
Loved the look and the location. I stayed on the sofa bed, so waking up to that view was a highlight each morning. It was also pretty comfy. My mates said both beds were also comfortable, I enjoy walking so I walked to Scenic World, little coffee shop near by, I had every thing I needed and would stay again.

Amazing view, even better than the photos. Worth noting that slip on shoes are handy as they aren't allowed in the house also the town is a 20-30 minute walk away. Really enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous Girls Weekend
I stayed with a group of 3 friends for the weekend, it was brilliant. Location, facilities and the view was just gorgeous! So relaxing out on the deck watching the mountains change colours.

Thje view is to die for!! And the location perfect. As to the house and amenities it was obvious that a lot of care and thought had gone in to make visitors welcome and being able to enjoy fully their stay

Convenient spot in Katoomba
We enjoyed the place overall. The location and view were great and the space was fine for our family of 4. One suggestion would be to turn the heat on earlier when guests are coming as it got quite nice and toasty in the house, but it took a couple hours where we were cold.

Beautiful View / wonderful location
Within walking distance of the Katoomba Falls, Cascades, etc. Not far drive to the Blue Mountains. The sunrise views from the indoor porch were gorgeous. Dalia was pleasant and informative of places to go and things to do in the area. The gardens are fun and beautiful to walk through. Overall a relaxing and great experience.

A fabulous escape!
A perfect retreat with breathtaking views of the escarpment, this was just what we needed! A cosy, well-equipped house, conveniently located close to shops and local attractions and trails. The garden is beautifully kept - the massage in the gazebo was just the cherry on top! Dalia is a lovely host, and is very available for all that you may need. A really pleasant stay, would love to be back again!

This is a beautiful classic house with a bit of luxury touch. A great place to relax. Even no aircond but the house is so cool even we went on a hot xmas day. Watching the sunset from the house is a unforgettable. I highly recommend to anyone who want a relax holiday break.

A beautiful retreat home
We were unfortunate to have the weather rain down on us whilst during our stay there, but Dalia and Joss's home was beautiful and lovely to stay at. The bathroom was a little small, and you may bump into some neighbours since the garden is a shared area, however, the place was very charming and the views are incredible! The place was very close to the Three Sister's Lookout, and is conveniently close to the shops, bars and cafes in Katoomba. I would definitely come back again for a relaxing retreat!

It was homely - not modern, but quite liveable. There are 2 other rooms above Sterling Manor with other guests and you can hear them moving around and hear their voices if they're speaking loudly, but this is an old style house - so it's to be expected. The 2 bedrooms at Sterling Manor were large with couches in both rooms. Location is excellent with an easy 5 min stroll to the Echo Point lookout. Views from the sun room of Sterling Manor were excellent. Lovely garden. I would come back here again as you'd pay twice to get that view and to be in that location.

Our wonderful stay at Sterling Lodge
I booked one night at Sterling Manor as a surprise for my mother, as her mother (my grandmother) had worked for Richard Sterling for 3 years as his secretary when he wrote the Horoscope column for the Australian Women’s Weekly magazine. I thought mum would enjoy being in the home her mother worked in all those years ago, and as it turned out both she and I had a wonderful stay here. Dalia was even kind enough to offer us a complimentary 2nd nights’ accommodation so we could enjoy the beautiful gardens and peaceful atmosphere longer. Dalia was a wonderful host, and the house was very comfortable and clean, and had a wonderful energy about it. We could certainly feel Richard’s vibration there and in his glorious terraced zodiac garden which was so peaceful. The view of the Blue Mountains from here is breath taking and the sound of birds just added to the serene experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and are happy to give this property the highest accolades. #Dalia’s blue mountain retreat
