CAREEL COTTAGES are two completely self contained properties. Both are perfect for couples, families and friends. Our BACK COTTAGE is the larger of the two with a fully fenced garden and is available to book now for up to 6 guests. We also have a Travel Cot for guests travelling with an infant.

The BACK COTTAGE is the original cottage on the land
and has been newly renovated in May 2017. From its humble beginnings as a miners cottage in the 1940’s it is now a stylish and contemporary home waiting for you to come and enjoy. So if you are planning a stay in the mountains and want the convenience of being close to everything and not breaking your budget then Careel Cottages will not disappoint.

The BACK COTTAGE consists of 2 BEDROOMS with a Queen in the main bedroom and a double in the other. In the lounge we have a brand new Queen size top quality sofa bed which can accommodate 2 people making maximum people of 6 that can stay.
There are 2 BATHROOMS.
We can now offer a brand new kitchen and dining area that is designed to mix the old cottage ambience with the new. Creating we hope a mountains experience that will make your stay that extra bit special. If you want to cook at home everything is provided for you starting with the spacious essastone bench top and bar. Cooking is a Miele Induction cooktop and your oven is a Smeg. There is a dishwasher and if on a longer stay we have a combination washing machine dryer.
Our new lounge area has a cozy Rinnai real flame gas log fire which pumps out the heat to cope with the coldest of winter nights. All our furniture is super comfortable including our outdoor setting and BBQ area in the new covered patio which is a great space to take in the afternoon sun with a glass of wine.
We provide Foxtel in Both Cottages plus we have excellent high speed internet and offer Free Wi Fi in BOTH Cottages.

The FRONT COTTAGE has been renovated in 2016 and has a new bathroom and great new outdoor deck with BBQ.

TV LED HD. FOXTEL with Sports and Lifestyle channels is provided in BOTH cottages as well as free to air and digital channels. Both cottages also have Chromecast connected to the TV so you can stream your favorite Netflix, You tube and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) content from your device to our TV.

Free NBN Wi Fi is supplied for our guests in BOTH cottages. Internet speeds are around 24 Mbps.

The space was well equipped with plenty to use in the kitchen and lots of extra blankets for warmth. It has a very cosy vibe. Very close to the town centre and main attractions.

Very impressed with the modern facilities.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Careel. The property was close to everything and made it so easy to see everything we wanted to in and around Katoomba. The location is quiet and the yard was great for our dog to run around. We would definitely book again.

Three night get away
We stayed here in 2022 for 2 nights and found we needed longer to get away from Sydney, so chose a 3 night stay this weekend. Property has all we needed (and many things we didnt use, but others no doubt will). Far enough away from the main streets, but close enough to walk if you are active enough and a perfect location to venture out to any of the Blue Mountains 'places to see'

Cozy Cottage in the Mountains
Career Cottage is a very comfortable and well-appointed Cottage, with all the comforts of home. The gas log fire was very efficient and the collection of LP’s was most interesting. The cottage is located close to the main Katoomba attractions. The Back Cottage accommodated our 4 adults and 2 children comfortably.

A cozy, dog-friendly cottage in Katoomba
This cottage has everything you need for a lovely Katoomba getaway. We stayed in Winter and the gas heating kept us lovely and warm. The beds were comfortable and there's plenty of seating for everyone. The yard is secure if you're bringing your pup. There's a park across the road and if you don't mind a hill or two, it's a good walk to Echo point. My hubby, parents and pooch all enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay here again.

A clean and comfortable home close to town .
Exactly as advertised. The bed is very firm which suited us but may not work for others. The kitchen is well set up and little extras make the place even better. Recent poor weather has left the garden a bit overgrown which made it impossible to use the outside area ( inundated with mozzies). Great kitchen and bathroom and very clean .

Perfect Blue Mountains Getaway
Stayed for four nights in February. Perfect home base for exploring the Blue Mountains (Scenic World is literally around the corner) and Jenolan Caves. Plus it's only 1.5 hours from Sydney. Ideal size for a pair of couples or small family. The cottage is modern, functional and tidy. Bathrooms are excellent and kitchen has dishwasher, oven, stovetop and clothes washer. Super helpful that all the operation manuals are in a drawer in the kitchen! The high-end Dyson fans are a nice touch too! Grocery stores and Target are walking distance from the property. Plenty of room to park a rental car. Quiet neighborhood (except for the Cockatoos in the morning, ha!). I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

First class accommodation
I stayed in Careel cottages for 3 nights over the Christmas break, there was 5 of us and a small dog which the cottage catered for easily. We stayed in the back cottage which is fully fenced with a bush outlook, there are too many things to mention but this place has the lot! BBQ which we used every night, very modern kitchen and heaps of entertainment. Across the road the is a really great park with a big pond and if you keep walking you will find the old Catalina speedway which was really cool to explore. The cottage is not far from all the major Katoomba attractions and shops. I found the owner Steve easy to deal with and will definitely return for another visit perhaps in the cooler months.
