Banksia Cottage is a perfect getaway in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Great for couples, friends & families looking to take a break but still stay in easy reach of everything the area has to offer. Close to local walks, lookout points and historic towns, you will not be short of activities. With a newly renovated bathroom with a bath, and a cozy lounge with a gas fireplace, you can really put your feet up and unwind no matter if you’re looking for an active break, or one that’s slower paced.
In its own private setting, Banksia Cottage has everything you’ll need to enjoy your break either getting out in nature or curling up in front of the fire with a book. With two ample queen rooms plus a seperate workspace or nursery room, you will be comfortable with friends, family or taking a working break. The cottage boasts a newly renovated family bathroom with bath (Jan 2023), fully equipped kitchen-dining and a cozy lounge with gas fireplace so you can relax and enjoy.
The large backyard is perfect to take a break from the busy itinerary, if only to catch your breath. Complete with a cubby house, slide and swings spend some quality time with yourself or your loved ones. The property is set in 4000 SQMs of conservation land and is available to be explored directly from the rear of the property.
The property has a separate laundry with washing machine, ironing facilities, dryer and clothes hanging. This is a shared facility with Bottlebrush Cabin and free for guests to use.
Professionally serviced linen and towels, toiletries, tea, coffee and basic cooking supplies are all provided and free unlimited NBN-connected wi-fi, is available for guests

Guests have access to the entire cottage. There is parking available in the driveway at the top of the property however please note that the driveway is shared with our sister property, Bottlebrush Cabin, so must remain available for all to use. Strathearn Road is very quiet with plenty of street parking available. The bushland, garden and laundry is shared with guests at Bottlebrush Cabin but both properties are completely sperate. The garage is locked and not accessible to guests.
Guests will be sent all details required for private enjoyment of their stay.
Leura is arguably the prettiest village in the Blue Mountains filled with character heritage homes and gardens. The vibrant town centre has a host of cafes and restaurants alongside eclectic homewares, fashion and antique shops. Located just east of Katoomba, on the edge of the Blue Mountains National Park, you can soak up the magical views at Sublime Point lookout, picnic at Leura Cascades or take one of the countless other walks in the area.
Banksia Cottage is a 15 minute walk into Leura or a 2 minute car ride.
Banksia Cottage sits in large grounds alongside its sister property, Bottlebrush Cabin. While Banksia Cottage is completely separate and private for its guests, it can be booked together with Bottlebrush Cabin for groups of up to 6 adults.
Banksia Cottage is for quiet enjoyment, we do not cater to parties.
On departure, the cottage must be left in the same clean condition as found on arrival.
Dogs are allowed at the property, but guests are to note that the grounds are bush land and are not fully fenced and sealed. Due to its size, the cabin would not be suitable for large dogs or multiple animals. No dogs are to be left or tied up outside the property to disturb the enjoyment of other guests.
