Located at Katoomba in the heart of the Blue Mountains - is ATELIER, the former studio of renowned Australian artist Tim Maguire, winner of the Moet & Chandon Australian Art Fellowship in 1993.

ATELIER is nestled in the grounds of historic Burnie Brae (Circa 1908) in a quiet suburban location and is within easy walking distance of the local main street with its shops, cafes and restaurants.

A short and easy drive away is the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park, with all its natural beauty and various attractions just waiting for you to explore.

Externally, ATELIER is unassuming and blends in well with the main house. However, internally is has an astonishing open plan design with a loft stye bedroom.

ATELIER is truly a unique concept in modern and stylish mountain holiday accommodation and living.

Offering a cosy wood fire to snuggle up by on a cold night, a relaxing spa after that enduring bushwalk and a queen size bed at the end of a fantastic day.

ATELIER is your home away from home and is available to couples seeking a romantic getaway from that busy city life.

Off street parking is usually available for your stay and you are quite welcome to use it, just ensure that the gates are left closed after you have entered or left the property please.

However, there are times when we do require the driveway area for our own use (landscaping supplies etc.) and we are unable to give much notice that we require it, but most of the time it is available.

At these times we ask that you park on the street in front of the property as there is always plenty of parking available throughout the year.

If you need to purchase provisions for your stay, there is a Coles, a Woolworths and an ALDI supermarket close by, as well as various bottle-shops including a Dan Murphy’s about 150 meters away.

We are also close to the local cinema complex (The Edge), as well as the local aquatic center which contains a 25 meter indoor heated pool, a 50 meter outdoor pool and various gym facilities.

Fabulous Cottage in Excellent Location
We love this place!!! It’s the second year in a row that we’ve stayed here. The studio Cottage is lovely with spa bath and log fire. The location is great, with just a short walk up to Katoomba Town Centre.

We stayed there for our wedding anniversary and honestly you can’t go wrong with this place. It was perfect with the bubble bath, fireplace. Very well located, the place has everything you need and the hosts were really nice. We will be back!

Had a great stay at the property. The fireplace was amazing, as was the spa bath. Only negative was on our first night it was particularly windy & the branches rubbing against the roof / guttering made it pretty tough to sleep. Overall would 100% recommend & would definitely stay here again.

The home was comfortable and the location was perfect. We had a wonderful time exploring the Blue Mountains, hiking, visiting Scenic World, and enjoying several of the lovely restaurants in Katoomba. We highly recommend trying out Hominy Bakery for some very tasty meat pies.

Wonderful!
Excellent location. Very private down a path surrounded by a lovely garden. We loved the fireplace the most. It is so great to come home from walking and sit in front of a log fire when it is cool.

We loved our stay at Atelier. It was cold in the blue mountains during our stay but so warm and cozy at Atelier. The photos do not do it justice as its nicer in real life. We highly recommend it to couples who want to explore Katoomba and the surroundings. Thank you Mike for being a great host.

Great mini break
Easy to find , lots of information given by host prior to stay regarding activities and places to eat . Walking distance to shops and places to eat . Little touches of providing Tim Tams and candles appreciated . It’s close to the main house but didn’t feel looked over .

Katoomba stay
The property has some amazing features with the loft bedroom being particularly impressive. The weather was poor, it is on the mountains, but that didn’t stop us walking but did present a bit of a challenge getting clothes dry. Well appointed kitchen perfect for us to cook in and the best set of notes for visitors that we’ve seen with excellent recommendations. Spectacular area to visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Great location close to township and train station (suggest catching taxi from train station if have heavy luggage). Property is unique and comfortable. It was cold and raining during our whole stay but the accommodation was toasty warm with the fire (the fire was on when we arrived which was such a nice surprise). The spa is a spa bath. Great stay - highly recommend and would definitely stay again
