The Space:
You’ll enter into a lounge space offering polished floorboards and stylish wall-paneling with featured wallpaper sections. There’s a comfy sofa, an occasional chair, a large wall-mounted smart TV, a decorative fireplace with mantel and a rug for winter comfort. A security door and window bars, while merely a precaution, allow for fresh air and peace of mind. This lounge room flows through to dining area with a round table for 4 people, a side table which can also be used as a work space, and wall-mounted reverse-cycle aircon. A step down then brings you into the kitchen where you’ll find a Dishlex dishwasher, a family sized fridge, electric 4-burner cooktop, under-bench oven, microwave and coffee machine. Glass sliding doors open up to a private courtyard, with an outdoor table, a couple of chairs and a barbecue. Back inside, there’s powder room on this level with its own chic wallpaper.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, both with floorboards, wall-mounted reverse cycle aircon, smart TVs, stylish wood paneling and built in wardrobes with mirrors. The master bedroom comes with a queen-sized bed and a Juliet balcony overlooking the back courtyard, while the second bedroom has a double bed. The main, skylit bathroom is also on this level, decorated with warm blue tiles and offering a shower recess/combined mini bath for small children.
The Neighborhood:
Balmain is a vibrant inner-city waterfront suburb of Sydney with a friendly village atmosphere and lovingly restored cottages that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. This property is perfectly located, a short walk to Darling Street shops, eateries, pubs and a Woolworths supermarket. Balmain Hospital and Gladstone Park are both under 10 minutes’ walk from the house, while the buzzy open-air weekend Rozelle Markets is short bus ride away (or 20 minutes on foot). Beautiful Ewenton Park on Sydney Harbour is a 9 minute walk, a great place for picnics.
Getting Around:
The property does not come with parking and street parking is timed, so it’s best suited to guests who use public transport. Nearby bus services will deliver you to the CBD (Downtown) in around 20 minutes.
Other Things to Note:
* This is a pet friendly property for small dogs, with the owner requesting guests bring their own dog bed so animals don't sleep on the beds.
* Due to strict noise policies in strata buildings and Australian council by-laws, guests must avoid making loud noise, particularly between the hours of 10 pm – 8 am. Please understand that guests who break this rule may be evicted and financial penalties may also apply, depending on the circumstances.
* An additional $40 will be charged to your total if a check-in happens after 8 pm, and we require your arrival time as the Concierge does not live on site.
* A mandatory full clean of the property and complete linen change will be done every 4 weeks and added to your total booking amount for any booking longer than a month. This will be added to your total amount and processed separately.
*If you are eligible for a full refund as per our cancellation policy, a processing fee of $50 still applies.
*After check-in, if you choose to shorten your stay, you will receive a 50% refund of the unused nights of your booking.
