Mattocks House - Waterfront, Historic, Downtown

Family and friends alike will enjoy the historic William Edwards "Mattocks" House, a coastal plain cottage originally built in the early 1900s and on the National Register of historic places. This 6BR, 3.5BA is very spacious and well stocked with plenty of places for hanging out, relaxing, playing a game, having a conversation, and checking up on emails. Everyone will have a space to have their own vacation experience. Just 10 minutes (traffic depending) from the beaches of Emerald Isle, within walking distance to amazing restaurants featuring local seafood, live entertainment, shopping or just enjoying the view. Mattocks House is situated on the waterfront of downtown Swansboro and offers boaters a day dock (max 28 ft boat) with the boat ramp under a mile away.

First Floor: The main entry door on the waterfront will lead you into the kitchen and dining room with plenty of seating for everyone in your group. Just behind the kitchen are Bedrooms 1 & 2. There is also a bonus room with storage, a second full refrigerator, a card table, and an industrial/restaurant ice maker. Additionally, features a full bath and laundry room with a full-size washer/dryer. 2 outdoor picnic tables on the covered deck for serving meals or just hanging out.

Second Floor: Features an entrance to Front Street and offers all the main living areas, great for entertaining your friends and family. 2 living rooms, and an entertainment room with full fridges, a wet bar, a card table, and games. Bedroom 3/office is just across the hall with a sleeper sofa, half bath and desk with chair.

Third Floor: Bedrooms 4, 5, and 6. The master bedroom (bedroom 5) features an ensuite bathroom with dual sinks and dual shower heads in a beautiful custom tile shower. Additional storage in the hall for clothing.

IMPORTANT: Parking is free street parking anywhere you can find a space without a yellow marking. The parking lot directly behind the house is available for use but is first come first serve.

2 GENERATION FAMILY REUNION, ADULTS 21-72 YEARS OLD.
5 enjoyable, comfortable and busy days and nights in a spacious, tasteful 3 story historical house on the White Oak River waterfront. Nice functional kitchen, comfortable beds, 4 nicely appointed baths, responsive property manager. Property owner would benefit by providing an informational "Welcome" document or book, with details about the house, supplies and procedures.

We really enjoyed the house and location. The only suggestion would be that check out instructions be listed on refrigerator or somewhere. I received a email after we arrived home cause cell service wasn't good all the time.

Very nice property, clean , spacious. We all had are own space and also come together space. A couple of things though, the dead bugs need to be cleaned up before guess arrive, porches needs hosed down, also(remnants of deceased bird's in chair's). I would book again

Lots of room to sleep, lots of places to sit, spacious balcony, within walking distance of restaurants and shops, short drive to beach. Musty smell on first floor and anxiety about not having guaranteed parking. Live music outside on the weekends. The property was accessed to get golf cart off porch without notice - would have been fine if notice was provided. All in would recommend and would rent again.

Beautiful house with lots of space. Great family reunion for entire family. A few items needed: a spray cleaner in kitchen for daily cleaning and more dishwashing soap. Couldn’t find a broom and dustpan. Master bath shower on the right not working properly, I could only get cold water. We truly enjoyed ourselves and loved the balcony and gathering space on the 2nd floor.
