I’ll give the house itself 3.5 or 4 out of 5 stars. Some minor deferred maintenance, but pretty decent overall. Our experience, however, was quite the opposite. When we arrived the AC wasn’t working on the first floor. Called the property manager and they sent out an HVAC tech the next morning to fix it. It lasted about 12 hours & went out again. Called the manager again, waited for the HVAC tech who then advised the unit was beyond repair. We spent the remainder of the week without AC in half the house in 90 degree weather. We received a terse apology from the manager (along the lines of “sorry but it’s not my fault”) after they denied our request for compensation or a partial refund. There was a vague allusion to relocation (no outright offer) but it was the second to last day of our trip, and relo was impractical at best. No offers to install a window AC and we had to PROACTIVELY request they provide fans.We ended up filing a complaint with VRBO and received a refund of their service fee. I won’t even mention the cockroaches or soiled linens. It appears the Host has no understanding of the term “hospitality,” and future guests should have a backup plan in place.
